I didn't think I'd done that much for 3SF but once I added it up, there were a few. I definitely moved beyond my usual comfort zone, too.

Narnia Fic, including some rthverse

So, I followed a link of [livejournal.com profile] cofax7 to a post by sara about the OTW elections and then to the comments where it was reflected that when fandom friends are feeling low, one sends porn, but this left a problem with Real Life friends. What do you send them when they feel low? We do not send porn to our next door neighbor whose SUV got totaled in the car pool line or our executive assistant whose Nalgene water bottle spilled all over her netbook and night school notes on the Metro. The answer for these RL woes is pound cake. I feel this is a profound observation on a scale with the answer to the meaning of life being 42.  We need icons and banners reflecting this profundity:  Life’s got me down, please send porn. Or pound cake.  Not to say that I need either, at the moment, though I would never say no to gift pics or fic or pound cake.  or Heath bars.

Anyway, moving on. Writing continues, with me sorta scratching my head with how to have Peter meet Jill without merely re-treading the beginning of TQSiT (any thoughts appreciated). Also [livejournal.com profile] l_a_r_m on  toomuchtebbitt continues to have new pretty pictures (British embassy in black and white most recently) and I do the odd bit of pic fic on Tumblr.  [livejournal.com profile] metonomia reblogged this from Old World:

(Source: old world
and she then added wonderfully:
katybee:
Very technically I understand that this is the Flight to Egypt, but we’re going to go ahead and pretend it’s Mary and Richard Russell (and their stalwart donkey friend, who likes to chew Mary’s coattails but that’s okay, she doesn’t mind), or maybe Mary and Asim, lost in the desert, though they’d never admit it.

To which I added:
They are not lost. They never are lost though they do wander, as Mary is fond of saying. At night, Asim sees a vision of a girl, sometimes blonde, sometimes red-haired, but always glowing with the God-light. She sits between the paws of a great Lion. "Some day, I shall meet her," Asim says. "Some day."

And we have fic! Filling in the gaps – written for the awesome [livejournal.com profile] snacky for her birthday.  By way of background, Peter and Susan partake of the The Great Bonding and, among other things, meet Dalia and Lambert on the hunt in I love not man the less.  In The Palace Guard, there is an assassination attempt, which results in the formation of the Guard. The black Panther, Wrasse, assumes temporary guard of Peter.

For the second, Prince Caspian, part, it’s a bit of Peter/Caspian, if you squint with slash goggles on.

In the following, we now cover 15-16 years, and this goes places I did not intend, and we end up not in AU exactly, but maybe. It's not what I'd intended. The first part is re-hash of the commentfic and I blame [livejournal.com profile] lady_songsmith for the prompt that took us to the Amazon and then [livejournal.com profile] anastigmatfic for where we’ve ended up, however improbably. The very end is new.

In which I recap previous posts and send up a trial balloon for Apostolic Way that I never intended )

She's gone on and done it, just for you Peter and Mary shippers (all 3 5 7? of you).  The awesome [livejournal.com profile] lady_songsmith has written an absolutely hysterical follow on to the TSG AU-verse with the swamp, the herpetologist-supplied moonshine, and the leopard spotted undergarments Edmund had so thoughtfully packed for Peter.  You can read and laugh here in which Peter and Mary do something never spoken of again except occasionally as "it" and do tell Songsmith how wonderful it is.  You probably don't want to be drinking when you read it.  Management is not responsible for damage to computers.  What are you waiting for?  Go!

Mary, Peter, Asim, Eustace, Alligator Snapping Turtles, and Alligators.  [livejournal.com profile] anastigmatfic is magnificent and awesome and really you have to go read this right now.

Also moonshine, the Florida swamp, and a missing camera bag.  Though I am wondering what a pair of leopard-spotted Y-fronts are and I'm too scared to google it.

“Macrochelys temminckii is one of the largest freshwater turtles in the world, Eustace,” scolded Mary, “and you’d do well to show it somerespect.”

Mary had been ecstatic at the sight of the thing. Of course she had: what the locals called an ‘alligator snapping turtle’ was enormous, thickly spined, and resembled nothing so much as the illegitimate offspring of a rhinoceros and a pangolin – one with a bad, bad hangover and the head of a dinosaur.

We’re all fine here. For the first time since 1995, we did not lose power during a major weather event. Thank you for the good wishes.

Because I could not resist and I now ship Peter and a camel.

Enough’s enough.
The previous entry on Chapter 12 has exploded so at the risk of self-aggrandizement, I’m just going to move some of that discussion and such over here to a new entry.

Neiman and Flavia, thanks for the reviews and Nemain it’s great to hear from you again. Flavia, as the comments to the previous entry indicate, you are not alone in your defense of Edmund. They are both to blame; I’m just annoyed with him that he did not explain to Morgan why he’s all angsty about Seth/brother/betraying family for material gain.

The following comment fics happened when I spammed the LJ of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] animus_wyrmis .  I realized after posting [livejournal.com profile] l_a_r_m  's birthday fic that I should probably move these all over here, in one place.  There are more over in Animus' LJ, but here is the gist of my own deplorable hijacking of the thread with discussion of the friends of the Friends of Narnia.  I discussed and linked it earlier, here, but it's all sort of hard to find and two people have asked for links, so here it is in one place.  The Lucy story is part of a much larger thread, with contributions by several amazing, talented women, including [livejournal.com profile] metonomia [livejournal.com profile] lady_songsmith  and [livejournal.com profile] animus_wyrmis

For those who saw these over in animus' LJ, there's no new content (other than what I did for LARM's birthday fic).

Susan, the Colonel and Tebbitt was posted here.
