3 Sentence Ficathon

CaramelSilver isn’t running the awesome 3 sentence ficathon this year, but she said I could do it in her place!!  (Banner courtesy of CaramelSilver and thanks so much!)

What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do?
You post prompts!  When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please.

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish.  If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again!  Multiple fills of the same prompt allowed.

How long can it go? 
CaramelSilver kept the 2011 3 Sentence Ficathon up for a month.  I'd suggest closing it on Sunday, April 7, 2013.  How does that sound? (edit:  If we reach 5,000 comments sooner, I'll start a new one).

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want.  Last year, a lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag.

Gosh who are all these people writing such great prompts and fills?
Good question!  Come to the friending meme and introduce yourself if you like.

As  lady_songsmith explains, for the 2011 3 Sentence Ficathon, grim_lupine created a delicious account to archive the 3 Sentence Ficathon.   lady_songsmith has reactivated the archive on delicious for this challenge, so, here is the account (nothing current added yet, though): https://previous.delicious.com/3sentence She asks that if anyone would be willing to help knock down the backlog of the prolific-ness thus far, let her know!!  (She adds:  I know folks are kinda down on delicious with the changes, but, hey, it's an archive already set up with useful tags!)

On the subject of archiving, I really encourage people to collect and post their fills elsewhere.  That way, we can find your work more easily again, redundancy is always good and it's really useful for future remixes and other challenges and gift exchanges you might participate in. I'll start a linking post so that if you do collect all your fills and post them on your own blog or an archive like AO3, you can give give us the link in comments.

The question isn't whether they know how to love each other - the question is can they stop also knowing how to hurt each other?

Les Miserables, Enjolras/Grantaire, it's a revolution I suppose

For Grantaire, the revolution isn't the one that Enjolras is always talking about, the one that--somehow--through science and education will help the poor (and never ask who will pay for this), overturn Louis-Philippe (even though, as kings go, he's not that bad) and force the world to progress if they die (because people apparently never die in vain if they die for a good reason).

For him, the revolution is what happens inside him when he looks at Enjolras--not just because he craves the man (though he does, and wasn't that a shock to discover?), but because Enjolras cares fiercely about his cause and his country, stripping away mountains of cynicism from Grantaire, making him believe, not in the revolution, but that what Enjolras wants is worth having. He cannot believe in the revolution or the barricades; he cannot believe in his country as the glorious entity that Enjolras adores; but he can believe in and love and die for Enjolras with all of his skeptical, dubious, questioning heart, and that, he thinks, is a revolution indeed.

A soul's a small price to pay for having all your dreams come true, he'll say making it seem so reasonable before he personally reserves your place in hell.

There's blood in his eyes but he doesn't ask for help, pushing Malik out of the way and splashing dirty water on his face, another stinging wound on another tired body forcing itself past its limit for another endless mission.

There's blood between his teeth but he doesn't ask for help, and Malik grabs him by the arm and kisses him until there's blood on his lips too, another desperate kiss that's another painful reminder of yet another thing he can lose.

Gentleman Bastard, Stephen Reynart, self-imposed expectations

When he finally sits down to a meeting with the Salvaras, Stephen Reynart finds he isn't especially surprised to feel the toe go sliding up his leg beneath the table.

It does give him pause when Doña Salvara smiles warmly and gives his arm a familiar touch as she excuses herself briefly from the table, and as she steps into the next room Don Salvara smiles at him too—and the toe continues its playful exploration right along Reynart’s calf.

Then Reynart smiles, relaxing as he lets his legs fall open to let Lorenzo move higher, and the two of them manage to feign a passing interest in cakes and conversation until Sofia returns; it isn't often things go better than Reynart expects, but he's more than happy to acquiesce when they do.

He reminds Achilles of his son with the stubborn line of his brow, the set in his jaw, and the shoulders of a boy who hasn't yet understood the weight of being a man, and a great ache seizes so violently in his chest that all he can do is slam the door in his face.

"Please," pleads the boy, banging a fist on the door, far from dissuaded, "They told me you could teach me to compete, that you know how to throw a punch around here good as anyone!"

"I could," says Achilles from behind the door, closing his eyes, "But I won't."

"The team is well, but things aren't the same without you, though," Hotch tells her finally, which really means, 'we miss you' and Emily knows that no matter where her travels take her, love will always be waiting for her at the BAU.

She winced as she heard raucous laughter and shouts—and oh dear, that sounded very much like Corin's voice—punctuating the gaps between the music from the flutes and pan pipes.

Lucy waved her hand airily as she replied, "Because we both know fully well that Edmund and Peter are terrible at making excuses to leave one of Bacchus' parties, let alone trying to explain to Lune why his sons were there in the first place."
