The C.S. Lewis Company has entered into an agreement with The Mark Gordon Company to jointly develop and produce The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair, the fourth book published in C.S. The Bad and the Ugly, the US federal government shut down.  Political rant:  About 30 Republicans in the US House of Representatives have decided to shut down the US government rather than allow poor, uninsured people the opportunity to buy health insurance in government-sponsored exchanges.  Because yes, it's better that poor people die of preventable disease than get to live and therefore potentially vote for a Democrat.  /rant

No, my family is not personally affected as neither of us is subject to the current US government appropriations process.  Many of our friends, colleagues, and family members are affected.  My deep sympathies to any of you affected.

Aaaaagh with Will Poulter back as Eustace I hope?!

I hope it's not as awful to my soul as PC was...I think I am in fandom minority here but VDT felt so much better to me than PC did. I mean there were the weird swords and the mist and the overarching plot but I felt like they got some of the feel of it right, and the visuals, and I kind of liked the idea of Lucy taking up her sister's bow and Edmund taking up Peter's sword (...even if that part was a) absurd and b) why did the sword light up no really please someone tell me), it felt a little bit like all four of them were there. And Poulter was great as Eustace. Tbh I would still love to see all seven movies made -- I would assume they'd go for MN next if SC does well (we'll see) and then HHB, which I assume they can adapt to make it less racist, and may have the draw of bringing back the original Pevensie actors if they can get them.

Politically, I am so glad you are not affected and OMG I AM SO MAD I COULD SPIT. Holding the government hostage until you get all the things you want IS NOT HOW GOVERNMENT WORKS and IS NOT RESPONSIBLE and STOP ACTING LIKE CHILDREN AND START ACTING LIKE GROWNUPS and ffs I hope we can oust them in the next election and get something done, this is absurd. Especially because ACA is SO GOOD FOR THIS COUNTRY, it has worked in Mass super well (WHERE IT WAS V REPUBLICAN, FFS, IT'S NOT LIKE WE'RE TALKING SINGLE PAYER WHICH WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN) and our system is such a mess, but NO, GOD FORBID PEOPLE HAVE HEALTHCARE AND A BLACK PRESIDENT GETS ANYTHING DONE, ASDAKJSHDADLK FOR GOODNESS SAKE.
