What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is an open exchange where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and fill as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do first?
You can start 3SF by posting prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please. So, for example,

Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand."

Open ended and anthropomorphic fills are popular too, such as:

Any, Any, "I don't like sand."

or

Earth geography, sand, "I don't like humans very much, either."

What happens after that?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt are allowed and even encouraged! (We get really fun stories going this way).

Can I still post if I need more than 3 sentences? Or should I just abuse grammar in ways the English language never contemplated?

I'm really overwhelmed by all the prompts and how much there is and how fast it goes. I can't read 1,000 prompts and fills. It's too much.
I hear this a lot and it keeps a lot of people from participating. The 3SF is big and it moves fast, especially at first. I get overwhelmed, too, and I'm hosting the thing. With 2020 and 2021 sucking so badly you don't want something that's supposed to be fun cause you anxiety. I have a couple of suggestions for managing the 3SF volume.

First, really, you don't have to read every prompt and fill on every page. You can start at the last page of this and just go forward, or back a page or two. It's fine.
You can come and go as time and energy allow, you don't have to participate the whole time, and it drops off quite at bit after about 2 weeks and especially once we open a new post because this one is approaching 4,500 comments.
Even after the 3SF and new prompting end, people fill prompts all year long.
You can fill an already filled prompt and you can can leave a prompt that's already been prompted before. People do it all the time.

Always make sure you're looking at top-level comments only, not threaded. That helps a lot. Your screen should look like this.

But shouldn't I read everything to see if someone already prompted the same prompt I want to leave if someone already filled it?
No. Prompt as many times as you want, as much as you want. It doesn't matter if someone prompted the exact same prompt. Go ahead and prompt again!

I left a prompt and no one filled it. Can I prompt it again?
Absolutely!

Can I spread the word?
Yes, please. I generally fail at creating banners and embed codes but if you create one and make it really idiot-proof, I might be able to post and share it. Feel free to cross-post this entry. If you create your own banners or icons, let me know and I'll share!

How long will it go?
The 3SF closes to new prompts on February 13, 2022. The entry stays open permanently and people post fills all year long. (There were a bunch of new posts to the 2021 3SF this week!)

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes and could be helpful for Yuletide bears, too.

What about spoilers, content and archive warnings, triggers, pairings, ratings, tags, and squick?

I thought a lot about this. It boils down to reader beware. In my experience, this typically gets too big, moves too fast, and the stories are too short for content warnings and ratings to even apply. It is too big for me to moderate in this way. You should assume spoilers are fair game and that the initial poster and the responder have opted to use no content warnings or tags. This means AO3 content warnings for dubcon, violence, canon character death, underage, etc. COULD be present (and much more). I've found personally that I can skim and scroll by stuff that, from the prompt, I can tell isn't my favorite flavor of delicious cake. Use your best judgment, protect yourself, and be prepared to skip over things that aren't your thing. In this format, the obligation is on you, the reader, to protect yourself from triggering content.
Some posters do include warnings and spoiler tags or include spoiler space, but they don't have to do so.

Why is 3SF split among several posts? That seems confusing.
It is confusing and we always lose momentum once we have to move to a second post. The reason is because at 5,000 comments to a single post, DW installs a human test CAPTCHA, which is a pain for users. So, once this entry gets to the upper 4,000 comments, I open a new post. If you've been waiting until things slow down to participate, when we open a second post is often a good place to join.

The Untamed, Nie Huaisang, dead ends

Nie Huaisang has to make an effort not to curl his hand into a fist and snap the fan he's holding. There's a rage that lives inside of him, red hot and overwhelming at times, that demands justice for what was done to his brother; yet he's at a dead end with it comes to making Jin Guangyao pay since, so far, every one of his furtive attempts to get to him have failed.

Maybe it is time for him to turn to more drastic measures and rely on a truth that he learned as a teenager while in the Cloud Recesses: there is not one problem in the world that Wei Wuxian can't solve.

Oh I really like the idea of Huaisang having just as much rage as his brother, just, way deeper down. Well done!

His brother's end had been in a welter of blood and pain.

His brother's sworn brother met his end in a morass of scandal, disgrace and shattered pride.

His brother's other sworn brother was not dead in body, though in spirit... possibly. And probably dead to Huaisang. That was the final price for it all to be ended.

He was tired, so very very tired, almost dead tired... but only almost. He survivied, he was alive and now Sect Leader Nie had to find a new beginning.

Another useless letter joins the others in the ashes as Nie Huaisang stares at the flames, willing them to blaze higher and torch the entire rotten world.

So many months, so many years, searching and hiding and tugging at strings that always end up in flames, nothing but dead ends as once again his target slips away from Huaisang's net.
Still, the river is bound to run dry in the summer and soon that slimy little fish won't have anywhere to swim but mud, choking into a dead end of his own making and Huaisang's painstaking design.

It wasn't fair--Peter was oldest AND the son. Susan was the eldest girl, the pretty and sensible one. Lucy was the baby, the darling who did no wrong.

Edith did wrong--she never seemed to stop doing wrong. She fouled up her grades, fouled up her relationships with her siblings, and she even fouled up being a hero. The prophecy had promised a place for her at last, hadn't it? But no, she'd been greedy and bitter, and now all she could do is watch as Peter is strapped into his armor. He'd gripped her shoulders and ordered her to find Susan and Lucy, wherever they'd wandered off. "Just--just listen to me, just this once, E? Keep our sisters safe."

Edith might have nodded, but as she cinches her crimson gambeson and reaches for the chain mail--her form would be sexless under the layers and the helmet would hide her shorn hair--she apologizes to Peter under her breath.

This time, she won't get this wrong--otherwise, what is the point of her being there at all?

Oh to be the middle of three girls with an older brother would be even more aggravating for Edith! This characterisation is great and there's still so many glimpses of Edmund here!

After they were crowned, Edith’s siblings each found their feet; Peter was their High King and general, Susan focused on government and diplomacy, and Lucy may bounce from place to place, but she did so purposely, as the people’s Queen- their light and their warrior and their healer.

Edith, though, lingered in her siblings shadows, unsure of what to do and whishing she could be of more use.

Yet, it was in the shadows that she overheard a conversation she was not meant to overhear, and it was the shadows she draped around herself like a cloak when she set out to defend Narnia from it– and so she finally found her purpose.

Ed keeps the first syllable of a name she has buried under the coats of another world, because that sound is still “her,” the way she and her siblings recognize each other, so it serves its purpose.

And Edlyn serves hers: she slips through windows and bedsheets like a knife through flesh, whatever it takes to get the information she seeks. Her letters speed, her inventions thrive, and Narnia flourishes.

Shadow and Bone, Darkling/Alina, AU where they live their long lives seperate or together while all others die around them

“I’ll always leave you,” she says, fever-hot and desperate against his skin, like a threat; like a promise.

And she does, time and time again, for years, for decades, for long enough that he forgets to wait for her; long enough that he’s surprised somehow, just a bit, every time she comes back sharper-edged, leaner, a little less left of her to be honed.

“You’ll always come back to me,” he tells her, her face held between his hands, shadows blurring her lines, and smiles at the flare in her eyes; a promise, a threat.

THIS was exactly what I hoped I would get with this prompt! LOVELY! Love it!

It stands to reason, Clint thinks, as he twists himself around to get a better look at his ass, that he'd get a soulmate mark in such a stupid place. At least he can be sure that no one will see it accidentally, unless he starts sleepwalking naked (he resolves to start wearing boxers at least when he's asleep) or if he's injured too badly to stop them looking (that one he can't prevent).

It's not until Bucky slaps him on the ass one morning as he walks past that his skin feels like it's on fire, and he realises that soulmate marks can be activated without skin-on-skin touch; apparently the tatty old sweatpants are thin enough that it still counts...

I was hoping someone would write about an ass soulmate mark, so thank you! :D

“You knew about the mark?” Geralt’s voice is as gruff as it always is, but Jaskier can see the intensity in his eyes- as if Geralt is seeing him in a completely new light.

“Of course I did,” Jaskier says, forcibly casual, “I have seen all of you Geralt.”

“Oh?” Yennefer raises an eyebrow, seeming suddenly interested in their conversation (which is just typical), “Do tell then.”

Jing Jing and everyone else around her had always thought that it was a mole on her right cheek, just under her eye, an innocuous mark that seemed make her appear softer on screen. With no other obvious marks on herself, Jing Jing had also always thought she had no soulmark and would always see the world in black and white; a challenge for her profession, to be sure, but she was still very good at what she did. Then, one day, she was drifting off to sleep in Yu Tu’s arms when he leaned down to press his lips gently against her close eyelids, making Jing Jing open her eyes, first lazily only to smile at him, then suddenly in full astonishment, as she watched colours suddenly bloom vividly before her eyes in such rich defintion that seemed to tilt her entire world off its axis.

If this were one of those movies, one of those airport novels, the glove would get in the way - block the signal, hide the signified, pave the way for weeks, months of fruitless yearning, of needless roadblocks, all to pay off in that big oh moment that anyone who's even heard of romance saw coming a mile away; probably in an airport, because what doesn't scream romance like a building designed to ship people as efficiently as possible (Abby might have some rather stringent standards for romantic tropes - and her daughter delighted in subjecting her to the worst of them).

It doesn't of course - you have to get specially made fabric if you want to forestall something so integral to modern society; no one wants to miss meeting their most perfect compliment, not even surgeons - especially not surgeons.

Still, Abby has to admit that, all situation induced adrenaline aside, seeing the shape of her fingertips blooming rainbow bright across shattered femur is rather out there, as placement goes.

"And I'm telling you-" Kojiro huffed and yanked the hoodie back down. "It's weird," he paused, looking at the bleeding heart again; there were little smudges above the top curves, like . . . he pushed Adam's hair aside and saw that the heart was the centre of a . . . pawprint? "to have it here, but you've definitely got one. Unless you've tattooed the nape of your neck." he added, releasing Adam as he pulled away this time.

I would also never find a soulmark in that place, Adam, you are not alone XD

"I don't know what's weirder," Tadokoro said, waving around his sandwich, "that your soulmark is Sleeping Beauty, or that it's on your foot."

Yuusuke tossed a pickle at him. "I'm weird, so having a weird soulmark in a weird place is normal for me."

Tadokoro laughed one of his deep belly laughs. "That's true! So do you think you'll wake your soulmate from a hundred-year sleep?"

Yuusuke rolled his eyes and threw another pickle. "It's just a story, Tadokorocchi. Who knows what the mark means? None of them make any sense."

He went back to his own sandwich and tried very hard not to think of the climber from Hakone Academy's team, the one with the headband who'd nearly beaten Yuusuke in their last race, who rode his bike so silently that his whole team called him "Sleeping Beauty."

That couldn't be his soulmate. Yuusuke wouldn't be that lucky.

Agnes almost snapped out a reflexive question what the hell her new intern was staring at, then took a short, sharp breath and sent the boy scurrying off with new instructions.

She crossed into the bathroom, leaning over the sink with a sigh, tilting her head and examining her left eye. The familiar mark was impossible to miss - for anyone who looked her in the eye, anyone she looked at; a soft, but brilliant yellow sun and rays surrounded by softer silvery-blue stars that were harder to make out against the green of her iris.

Oooohh, I never considered eye soulmarks before! The possibilities 👀

I had the thought and turned it over a bit considering who to inflict it upon; a friend decided me by pointing out how much Agnes would hate it. X'D But now I want to write more, longer things exploring the idea. . . 👀

(I do a set of soulmate fluff stories I call my Valentine's Spectacular every year; I may be contemplating if I can make this work for it. XD)

Shen Qingqiu could feel the huadian burning itself onto his forehead as he made eye contact with his former disciple. The little beast had apparently crawled his way out of the Endless Abyss with the sole purpose of making his shizun's life even more difficult.

For decades, ever since he was only a slave child, Shen Jiu had jealously guarded the blank patch of skin on his forearm, trading his threadbare wrappings for a proper covering when he was accepted as a disciple of Qing Jing Peak. He cared little for protecting his own reputation -- that was a fool's errand -- but this one thing he had been able to keep to himself, away from the judgement of others.

It was just like Heavenly Demons, he thought sourly, to be so obnoxious even in this.

Ooh oh nooo he tried to kill his soul mate! That's so Xiao Jiu.

The morning of their thirteenth birthday is chaos that even Dad can't stop, with everyone waking up and looking each other over for the mark that should have appeared overnight. Even Ben, who hasn't thought about it all that much except when the others talked about it, can't help but start to get excited, watching them find their marks one-by-one: the small spot on Diego's left shoulder, the handprint that wraps around Allison's arm, the strange shape of the streak across Five's cheek.

Ben is the last one to look, and his heart sinks slowly when, even with help, he can't find that bright spot where his soulmate will touch him first.

He has to tear himself away from searching eventually, when Dad gets tired of waiting and demands they all come down for training. He's distracted through the usual drill, and Klaus gives him a sympathetic smile as he splits away from the group, moving far enough that the tentacles won't interfere with anyone else.

The bright orange striping across the inside of two of the tentacles is a whole new distraction. He hears a mutter behind him, and then another, but he can't take his eyes off the tentacles waving in front of him, ready to unleash damage and unmistakably displaying the mark he'd been looking for all morning.

"Number Six!" Dad snaps behind him when they go away again, but Ben doesn't stop laughing long enough to answer.

The Hero is said to bear a birthmark in the shape of the Triforce. In most lifetimes, it is on the left hand. In others, the mark is more... oblique.

"You say you bear the mark of the Goddesses," Princess Zelda said, "yet I see no mark. Please, show me the proof of your fate."

i was also inspired by a fire emblem: awakening comic where lissa was sad because her family bloodline mark wasnt visible and so a friend suggested it might be in an odd place, like between her toes, on her scalp, on the inside of an eyelid...

The soulmate mark fades and disappears within a year of becoming a vampire, so Eric is somewhat surprised to see a return of his shortly after a certain perky blonde first sets foot in Fangtasia, albeit in an unusual occasion. It can't be a coincidence, and he's not sure whether he's supremely annoyed or supremely pleased about this. Thankfully he's not shy, so Sookie will get a big surprise when she arrives at the bar tonight.

“Where’s your mark, Abigail?” Tally asked, after having shown her own on her midriff and seeing Raelle’s, a silvery-white one shaped almost like a dove, on the side of her neck.

Abigail smirked. “Yeah, mine’s super close to my vagina, so maybe when we know each other better I’ll show you guys.”

Tally accepted the explanation, but Raelle stared at her with burning eyes, and she couldn’t help but wonder if Raelle knew the truth—-that yes, it actually was just right above her vagina, but the real reason Abigail was reluctant to show her mark was that it too was a silvery-white dove.

There is always sound in the Citadel, not that Cheedo had known that when they were still trapped in the Vault. There are sounds of hammering, hissing water in the hydroponic gardens, and the singing, screaming, laughing voices of humans.

Cheedo will take the cacophony outside the Vault any day of the week; better that than the violent whispers and echoes of broken women still ringing inside. How lucky she was, she knew now, to have avoided that fate.

This is really striking, I love it!

"Mizuki!" Tomoki called out, hopping off his bike and nearly stumbling as he rushed to follow his girlfriend, who showed no sign of hearing him. "Mizuki, wait!"

Mizuki slipped inside the boarded up old house and Tomoki hesitated, cringing, then followed her, feeling . . . stifled by the empty old place; he froze as it grew darker and he realised . . . the lights were turning themselves down as Mizuki got further away, and Tomoki's voice died in his throat.

"Adam!" Mizuki said happily, her voice softer and warmer than he'd heard it since her birthday party, when her best friend had shown her the pictures of. . . Shaking his head, Tomoki rushed after her, hoping it would be less creepy there.

It wasn't; the gas lights - surely they shouldn't work, not in this place? - had come up in warm golden tones, and Mizuki was wrapped in the arms of a strange man . . . and Tomoki could just see the light across the room through him.

"Do you think it's really haunted?" Alex asked, staring up at the old house with wide eyes.

"Could be," Broadway said. "It's really old. I bet a lot of people have lived there."

"And died there," Lexington added.

"Guys, knock it off." Elisa put a hand on Alex's head. "You're scaring him."

"I'm not scared," Alex protested, but he hid behind Elisa's legs anyway. Just in case.

It's a run of the mill job with a standard haunting, but that doesn't stop Castiel from hovering near Dean as the salt circle is drawn and the iron is wielded and the spectre slashes against the invisible barrier. When he almost impedes Dean's swing for the third time, Dean rails at him.

But it's hard to take a step back when all you want to do is protect the man you love.

Jim could feel the ghosts the minute he walked into the place, and he could see them the minute he entered what must have been the most over-pink-wallpapered, over-chintz-decorated, over-floral-carpeted room he'd ever seen in his life: dialling down the senses to near-zero didn't help one bit from the sheer visual pain the mass and muddle of sugary color and pattern caused his inner Sentinel, and he could still see, and sense, the ghosts.

The were three of them - little old ladies, like the Ghosts of Bad Family Reunions Past, Present and Please Christ Not the Future - all dressed in fuzzy, muzzy shades of pink, sitting primly on... well, on nothing, probably long-gone armchairs. One seemed to be knitting something that even a Sentinel couldn't see, the others had their hands folded neatly in their laps, and all three watched him with beady colourless (at least not more pink, he thought) eyes.

He winced; all that pink did not go with the red-brown stains on the over-floralled carpet, or the crimson-spattered kitchen knives neatly arranged on the (embroidered?) tableclothed table, or the massive, bloody gashes on all three ghostly bosoms....

That was interesting. I enjoyed it. I still love the Sentinel.

When she's satisfied with the black, she switches to gold, six backstitched lines crossing her black outlines, a circle with detailing just outside it, and a circle around each marquise shape; then green around the circles and green crossing gold and black lines, needle point separating the two strands of each stitch with each new stitch; then her plum-blossom pink for a five-spoked star before threading a different needle to weave the thread between the spokes: the techniques are fascinating, her skill mesmerizing, the grace and speed and delicacy of her motions entrancing.

"You could wait to daydream about taking this off me until after I'm done putting it on me," Marinette says, amused, and sets aside the future négligée on which she's embroidering gold-belled and -whiskered black cats with roses between their teeth (he dared her; he hadn't thought she'd do it) to capture Adrien's hands between hers and press a gentle kiss to each knuckle in turn.

Walking into her living quarters, Rozemyne freezes in her tracks; Hannelore's embroidering, fingers moving deftly, her face a moue of pure concentration. Rozemyne's knight clatters into the room behind her, drawing Hannelore's attention; those beautiful hands still, quickly moving to hide away her work, and Rozemyne's face burns as she stammers an apology and beats a hasty retreat. How on earth is she supposed to get through a whole afternoon of meetings when all she can see is those hands, when she knows her wife is sewing her cloak?

[Context for fandom-blind readers: In this world, brides sew protective charms into their spouse's clock. It's a lovey-dovey newlywed activity.]

Pulling and pinching, petting and pushing by turns, well-cared-for hands that had cared for her in turn - and grown alongside her own. Twined fingers that offered support, between the moments when they curled to lash out as the sharp voice did.

Sakura knew Ino's hands as well as her own, as well as she knew that no matter how much they grew, she would always be there when Sakura reached.

Soft - courtesy of the endless well of chakra raging in the trap at his core - just a little stubby, hands that were ever careful, offered openly . . . but not expecting to be taken. Hands that reached out no matter how many times they were slapped away or bruised.

Sakura watched Naruto's hands and took one in her own to keep him close, feeling a pang for the hurt she had caused, even if it was long forgiven.

Warm and dry, marked with shiny little speckles - burns, because no matter how precocious, everyone makes mistakes . . . particularly with no guidance. He stares at her as she smiles softly to herself; Inej doesn’t appear repulsed by the sight of his hands bared of their gloves. When he peers down to watch her fingers touch him, Kaz doesn’t once flinch.

And as much as Teomitl would normally love to dwell on those other things, right now he can’t really afford the distraction because Acatl is teaching him to wrap tamales. “The extent of my culinary expertise,” he’d said with familiar dry self-deprecation, but since Teomitl’s own cooking skills start and end with grilling things on sticks he’s looking forward to learning something new.

Scoop the filling onto the wet maize husk. Fold it carefully—carefully. Acatl’s so gentle with it. Tie it with a thin strip of the same corn husk, just to make sure it stays in place. Teomitl can’t believe he doesn’t break it.

“Now you try,” he says, and smiles.

Teomitl looks down at his own hands and the stack of maize husks in front of him. It can’t be that hard. He was paying attention, even if his mind’s eye is still mostly full of long brown fingers instead of the maize husks they were holding.

“What is this place?” Polly asked, teeth chattering, and she at once leapt over to Digory’s side, where in an instant the warmth of the sun melted the snowflakes that had been gathering on her hair and shoulders, and she let out a great sigh of relief and tilted her face up to the sunlight.

“I don’t know,” said Digory, bending over to look at the divide between the two lands more closely—it was merely a furrow of empty soil, and the two lands abutted against it—before shivering in a sudden chill despite the warmth and adding, “but let’s not stay here any longer.”

He compromises by taking off his shirt but leaving his overalls on, happy to have that little bit of fabric to cover up the extra ten pounds he's carrying around his middle. It's only when Minho leans over and runs a finger down the strap and wiggles his brows during dinner that Frypan begins to wish for the heat wave to last just a little bit longer.

Walking out of the cool of his temple felt like entering a sauna. Acatl took a deep breath and instantly regretted it; the air felt and tasted like hot soup, and no sooner did it hit his nose than his sinuses all but clanged shut in self-defense. His heavy formal cloak was suffocating.

Ichtaca grunted instead of speaking. He grumbled something indistinct back. Unless you were actively channeling Mictlan’s power, it didn’t do a thing to dissipate the ovenlike heat. And of course it didn’t do a thing for the wet, clammy, disgusting feeling of sweat accumulating on your skin with nowhere to evaporate to. The thought of descending the temple steps in full noon sunlight made him want to cry, but he started walking anyway. One step at a time, he told himself. Think about anything else. Anything.

Granted, he was often here at noon—since that terrible plague he’d made it a point to stop by, apparently in the belief that Acatl needed to eat something—but at the moment Acatl really didn’t have the energy to greet him. At least this way, he got to stay in Sunnydale, and it gave him the option of the happy future with Anya that he had initially hoped that Sweet would show him.

She could only hope she wouldn't need it to be at its usual precise sharpness. "Who tied you up like this? Why did you call me?"

"No, no, I didn't use any horn," the man murmured, looking half delirious. He gazed at her with such wide eyes. "But you came--oh, Aslan sent you, didn't he? Oh, praise to him, you're Queen Lucy!"

It was odd--as Queen, their subjects often treated her with deference, but no one had spoken of her with awe since the days of the prophecy, back before they defeated the Witch. Even Narnia's greatest allies didn't look at them with such wonder, the four children who'd saved a country with the help of a god.

But this man had the look of a Narnian, despite the few numbers of humans in Narnia even years after their coronation, and as Queen she knew she needed to help him. As he fell, released from his bonds, she scooped him up, giving his hand a squeeze as well as smiling as warmly as she could. "Let's get you away from here and on the mend. Then, you must tell me everything."

It's the dragon soaring and roaring above him that has Tirian guessing he's not where -- when -- he's supposed be, for no dragons have been seen in Narnia for thousands of years.

But it's the man who grabs him and pulls him into the only hiding place available -- a small opening in the rock wall, too small to be a proper cave -- that convinces him, a man with a face he's seen in portraits and book illustrations and tapestries and carvings his whole life. "You... are King Caspian?"

Oh I love this! I feel like this could very easily turn into a fix-it, but's it's also just great to imagine their dynamic/adventures

But when King Rilian pays a visit, talking excitedly about finding a passage to Bism, Puddleglum knew he must leave again — after all, the King would need his steady, upbeat presence on this new adventure.

Soundlessly, the great gates opened, and from inside came a most delicious warm and golden smell, like high summer, and a voice said, "Welcome, dear heart."

And from every direction came that smell, like sun-warmed fruit in midsummer, only the fruit was riper and sweeter than any she had known. The greatest tree, in the very center, had apples -- but what apples! Lucy had never seen nor smelled such apples. They were large and bright, and there a light seemed to shine from them which reached into the deepest shadows of the garden. You knew if you bit into one it would be just ripe enough, crisp and tart and sweet all at once. And in front of it all was Aslan. "Oh, Aslan!" Lucy said. "Is this truly real?"
