After they were crowned, Edith’s siblings each found their feet; Peter was their High King and general, Susan focused on government and diplomacy, and Lucy may bounce from place to place, but she did so purposely, as the people’s Queen- their light and their warrior and their healer.

Edith, though, lingered in her siblings shadows, unsure of what to do and whishing she could be of more use.

Yet, it was in the shadows that she overheard a conversation she was not meant to overhear, and it was the shadows she draped around herself like a cloak when she set out to defend Narnia from it– and so she finally found her purpose.
