3 Sentence Ficathon

3 Sentence Ficathon Banner

EDIT!  THIS POST IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW PROMPTS,  PLEASE POST NEW PROMPTS
HERE!

CaramelSilver isn’t running the awesome 3 sentence ficathon this year, but she said I could do it in her place!!  (Banner courtesy of CaramelSilver and thanks so much!)

What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do?
You post prompts!  When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please.

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish.  If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again!  Multiple fills of the same prompt allowed.

I'm not a member of Dreamwidth
No problem.  You can comment anonymously or through open ID

Can anyone play?
Yes!  Please pimp this to your flist, I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!

I'm cross-posting to LJ but we will keep all prompts and fills here, so they are in one awesome place (and with less spam).

Here's a link for spreading the word to all your friends and comms (thanks [personal profile] snacky !)

How long can it go?
CaramelSilver kept the 2011 3 Sentence Ficathon up for a month.  I'd suggest closing it on Sunday, April 7, 2013.  How does that sound? (edit:  If we reach 5,000 comments sooner, I'll start a new one).

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want.  Last year, a lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag.

Gosh who are all these people writing such great prompts and fills?
Good question!  Come to the friending meme and introduce yourself if you like.

As  [personal profile] lady_songsmith explains, for the 2011 3 Sentence Ficathon, [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine created a delicious account to archive the 3 Sentence Ficathon.   [personal profile] lady_songsmith has reactivated the archive on delicious for this challenge, so, here is the account (nothing current added yet, though): https://previous.delicious.com/3sentence She asks that if anyone would be willing to help knock down the backlog of the prolific-ness thus far, let her know!!  (She adds:  I know folks are kinda down on delicious with the changes, but, hey, it's an archive already set up with useful tags!)

On the subject of archiving, I really encourage people to collect and post their fills elsewhere.  That way, we can find your work more easily again, redundancy is always good and it's really useful for future remixes and other challenges and gift exchanges you might participate in. I'll start a linking post so that if you do collect all your fills and post them on your own blog or an archive like AO3, you can give give us the link in comments.

Shall we their fond pageant see?

[personal profile] mardypants 2013-03-23 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
First out the orchard gate that morning was a very strange young woman in a soldier's doublet and little else, fleeing from the direction of the guests' quarters and shrieking curses most unseemly.

Hot on her heels was none other than Signior Benedick, rubbing a purple stain from his eyes with his nightcap and shouting after the girl with improvised love-oaths and rhymes even more unseemly.

From their vantage behind a crabapple tree, the Lady Beatrice and her newfound friend shared a congratulatory fistbump, careful not to bruise either flower that the other held, the purple or the white.

So can everybody else in Leonato's house, I imagine. *puckish grin*

And Leonato is in bed with his pillow over his face going, "Damn it, why do I keep saying yes when these people ask if they can come visit for a few days?!?" :)

Hey, as long as his daughter and her cousin end up married to well-off dudes in the end, everything's peachy. (Is there such a thing as a Much Ado/Pride and Prejudice crossover out there, I wonder?)

But what if this is happening after everyone had been married off?

That? Is not a thing I had yet considered. (Now I'm suddenly wondering where Hero is during all this. Hm.)

As breakfast drew towards its conclusion without the appearance of several key individuals who were not noted for routinely skipping meals (one of whom could be heard quite clearly, no matter how much effort one put into ignoring his caterwauling), Hero approached Beatrice, wringing her hands and saying, "Cousin, I know you do not regard my husband well enough to feel dismay at his disappearance this morn, quite the opposite in fact, but surely your own husband's public pursuit of this newly arrived jade must raise your ire no end, does it not?"

Much to young Hero's surprise, the good Lady Beatrice merely laughed and replied, "Nay, Cousin, it troubles me not at all, for your missing husband is the object of my husband's pursuit, and when they both return to their proper selves some hours hence, each shall have learned valuable lessons. If you care to follow me, I know the perfect location from whence to enjoy the entertainment they are certain to provide us for the rest of the day."

Question answered, and answered most excellently! (And I adore the idea of everybody sitting down to breakfast with all that zaniness going on within earshot and being all LALALA THIS IS NOT HAPPENING NOW PLEASE PASS THE BACON.)

LOL, surprise Midsummer crossover for the win! I can totally see Beatrice coming up with magical revenge plots good enough for Puck to want to get in on the action. :)

You're the anon that came up with the awesome prompt, right? Cause if so, half (or more) of the win belongs to you, and deservedly so.

I swear, if anybody told me when I woke up this morning I'd be writing this.... :>P

Yes, I'm the anon who left the prompt, but I'm pretty sure the win still belongs to you, because the fill is far more awesome than I could have come up with on my own. Besides, if credit needs to be shared with the source of inspiration, then most of it should go to Betony for leaving a prompt ( http://rthstewart.dreamwidth.org/87903.html?thread=1897567#cmt1897567 ) looking for a way to make Claudio less punch-worthy, which in turn made me think Claudio might get a little more understanding of what he had put Hero through if he had to walk a few miles in ladies' shoes himself.

I keep thinking how sad it will be when all the lovely prompts go away, but there's still so much unfilled! Plus I haven't checked out probably half of the fills already done yet. *needs to get on that*
