3 Sentence Ficathon - how about February 1?
So
snacky gave me a nudge and asked if I would host 3SF this year and if so, when?
So how does February 1 look? I typically hold it for the month but I'm open to a shorter period of time or starting it a day or two earlier so we have the benefit of the weekend. I never did pull my fills from last year to post them. People continue to post fills to old prompts all year.
I'm not inclined to change the format or rules from last year. For something this large, it's amazing how well it all works. The only problems tend to arise from my bad html coding skills.
You can read more about the 3SF rules, such as they are, here.
The most important thing I want to draw your attention to is that given how big and fast this moves, and that fills are, in theory, only 3 sentences, we don't require warnings for spoilers, content warnings or triggers. You participate at your own risk. Posters often will voluntarily include tags if they want, but they don't have to. If that's not going to work for you, this isn't the right place for you.
Edit to add: People can get really intimidated by the volume and speed and try to not let that sap your enjoyment or discourage participation. Some people love scrolling through pages of prompts. Others can't do it. I tell you now the only person who reads most of the prompts and fills is me. You don't have to read every page, you don't have to participate the whole time, you can fill an already filled prompt, you can can leave a prompt that's already been prompted before. Also, the speed and volume lessen a lot in the last 2 weeks and once we open up a second post, so if it's more comfortable, wait until it slows down a little and they wade in. We want to see you!
Leave any comments and suggestions in the comments below, including suggested dates.
Thank you!

I think a month is a good length, and am in favor of starting on the Saturday or Sunday before February 1 if people in general are okay with that -- and, of course, if it won't be too much trouble for you!

(I also read...every single prompt. Always. I don't read all the fills, admittedly.)

Also, one thing that people besides you can do to help make this more accessible is help index the 3SF so that it's easier to other people to find prompts for specific fandoms, or by specific people. This doesn't mean that one has to volunteer to index the entire thing - it can be as easy as posting in one's one space the links for one's own prompts, or all the ones for Star Wars, etc.
Also, this is the kind of event where navigating by 'Top-Level Comments Only' can be such a gift - go hunting for ones with zero comments from there, etc.

I also read every last prompt, though I don't read every fill! (only the ones in my fandoms, less ships I know aren't my cup of tea) Last year I pretty much opened a browser window just for the 3SF and kept it open the length of the event, reading through new prompts and occasionally rereading over ones already left, with a row of tabs of prompts I wanted to try filling. X3
