REMIX is back!

The post just went up announcing Remix 12: The Dirty Dozen. it's a great, great exchange and you can read about it here. I'm so glad it's happening again! With Remix, you get assigned a person and you get to redo in some fashion one of their stories.  Drabbles and 3SFs are a terrific base for remixing/expanding someone else's vision.  I've loved the stories I've received in the past.

Also, the Exchange at Fic Corner [community profile] fic_corner will be going live too. The Exchange at Fic Corner is a gift exchange for fic based on children's and YA books and short stories from picture books to edgy teen novels

I confess I'm very reluctant to participate in remix this year. I know I caused much admin angst last year. The gift to me, a lovely, wonderful story that [personal profile] snacky did, was the very last story to be posted to the exchange. I don't like knowing that I was responsible for such a problem. This year, it's also open -- no nominating for fandoms, so Narnia might not even be in it. It's not a very popular fandom.  I need to get the rest of my 3SFs up but those won't be enough to qualify me in other fandoms -- I've got too many crossovers.

Well, if I sign up, I will be eligible in Narnia and may well offer to remix it. (Though, last year, I matched on Narnia and ended up remixing an Avengers fic because all of my recipient's Narnia stories were PWP, so...)

I've only done remix once before, but found it to be a rewarding writing experience. I'm almost certainly going to sign up, and I'm eligible in Narnia and will be offering to remix in that fandom. I'm sure there will be a few people.

Theological worldbuilding remixes for the win! Thanks, though, I appreciate the compliment. I'd be a little nervous about remixing one of your great stories, but I'll do my best if called on.

*hugs* Well, I will definitely sign up with Narnia as one of my have-written and willing-to-write fandoms, so that's something. And you can probably also qualify for Star Wars pretty easily, if you don't qualify there already, so that's another thing. It will work out!

Well, if being remixed is the issue, perhaps just sign up as a pinch hitter? (And of course make your stories available for Remix Madness.) But that would remove the worry of "what if people can't do anything with my stories?" while still letting you A) remix something yourself and B) know absolutely and without question that you are helping the challenge.

Huh. I don't think I'm eligible in anything just yet, not even Narnia. That's what you get for having lots of interconnected ideas and long-term stories that need to have their plots sorted out first...
I've really liked some remixes I've seen before, so hopefully I'll at least have time to read some.

Ah, good reminder that I haven't posted all of them yet.
Although, to tell the truth, I probably won't have time to participate... it's just that I really like these opportunities to be more... connected?
