3 Sentence Ficathon Friending Meme
Wow, so we're well over 3000 comments and fills and every time I think it's getting quiet, 10 more notifications show up. I'm skimming a lot of it, and have noticed a few bumps that seemed resolved before I could do anything. You all are awesome. I've seen lots of posting on AO3 too. I'm closing the 3 SF in 2 weeks, on March 8, and then we'll do it again next year!
So, here's the opportunity to get to know one another, if you like. Share who you are, where you hang out, and what your interests are. I'll start in comments.

I am older than compost and as the handle says, have been hiding fandom in the underwear drawer since 1977 (and actually earlier than that because I think my very first fandom focus was the very old Dark Shadows. My first online fandom was Star Wars and I still play there sometimes. The vast majority of my friends today I have met through fandom over the last 20+ years. I left fandom in about 2001 to do other things like family and career and with the collapse of the world economy due to the conduct of evil investment bankers in 2008-09, got back into it with Narnia. In a Big Way. But I've followed most of the major things over the years except Supernatural and Sherlock. I have gotten super, super busy at work since January of last year and that's meant less time for fun writing.
I've got a short story in Athena's Daughters 2, an anthology of speculative fictions written by women, edited by women, and illustrated by women and I"m super excited about that. I most recently have been working out to The Librarians, Agent Carter, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Star Wars Rebels, Elementary, and Musketeers. I gave up on Sleepy Hollow and OUAT. Also, I have a deep focus on British cooking shows having DVRd 2 seasons of Britain's Master Chef Professionals and I fear for my time commitments if I start watching British Bake Off.

I fell into fandom in 2002, by way of Harry Potter, and it doesn't look like I'll be getting out any time soon. *wry* These days I mostly write for Homestuck and Narnia, but I've been multifannish for a long time and I read for many more things than I write. I only know most television fandoms via internet osmosis since I have some issues with audiovisual media in general.

I'm most active in the Shin Megami Tensei and Abrahamic mythology fandoms (is there an Abrahamic mythology fandom?), though I've written and participated in quite a few.

I'm a member of the Baker Street Babes Podcast, the web's only all-female Sherlock Holmes podcast, and a couple of Holmes fan groups online and offline. Holmes in all his incarnations has been very dear to me for as long as I can remember. I'my especially into the Granada series with Jeremy Brett, Elementary, and the Mary Russell books. Other fandoms I have played in include a lot of the C6D fandoms, Marvel comics, and currently I'm very into Shakespeare in a fannish way. I volunteer at the Globe Theatre here in London so I see quite a bit of it, and the Social Shakespeare readthroughs on tumblr have done a lot for me as well.
Recently I've been watching Haven, Almost Human, The Musketeers, and Orphan Black.
I also like my folk music and go to filk cons for listening and hanging out with awesome people.

Not normally a fan fiction writer or reader, but this is changing.
Big Tolkien fan (member of the Tolkien Society for mumble mumble years), also Lord Peter Wimsey, Connie Willis, and quite a lot of other things.
Greetings!

I am mostly into Yu-Gi-Oh! at the moment but that could change at any moment—hopefully it won't because I really want to get this fic novel series (or at least the first such novel) done in a timely fashion, but my fannish interests have changed on the drop of a dime before. Other fannish things I enjoy are Sailor Moon (Classic and Crystal, though I am behind on Crystal and desperately need to full-series-rewatch Classic), October Daye, and Greek mythology. I used to be way into Harry Potter and Supernatural but not so much anymore.
I have waaay too many original novel ideas and not nearly enough time to write them all.

I'm a big Doctor Who fan, but I also love anime in general - everything from big series like Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh! to tiny series that not many people have heard of. I'm also working my way through the (many) Kamen Rider series, as well as Tolkien's works although I'm not in either fandom yet. I also read a variety of manga series. I'm a fanfic writer, though I'm reading more than I'm writing at the moment.

My main fandom these days is the Silmarillion. I am also interested in the Vorkosigan series, a bunch of anime and manga (including Utena and Rurouni Kenshin), Korean drama, opera, Gilbert & Sullivan, mythology/fairy tales/folklore, and a number of Yuletide-sized book fandoms.

I still use my LJ account, and I follow a bunch of mostly Tolkien-based LJ comms like lotr_community and tolkien_weekly and silwritersguild (and right now, b2mem for Back to Middle-earth month). For posting fic, it's mostly AO3; I have an account on ff.net but I don't always remember to update it, and I cross-post Tolkien stuff on Many Paths to Tread. And I do as many fic exchanges as I can manage (again, mostly on LJ, though many of them have DW mirrors): Yuletide and Purimgifts and Jukebox Fest and things like that. :)

But no, just an opera fan.

And I learned something new, too - not really an opera fan here, although I do enjoy classical music (at least definitely some of it, anyway).

I can be found on AO3.
I've been involved in science fiction fandom for a very long time, but I only started writing fanfic about two years ago. I started out writing Narnia fanfic, but I have been branching out slowly into other areas. This ficathon has been great for encouraging me to try out new characters and settings that I wouldn't dare approach otherwise.
My favorite neglected fandom is Zilpha Keatley Snyder's Green Sky trilogy; really, more fic needs to be written in this setting! I have found next to nothing on AO3 or ff.net, so if fic exists it's somewhere else. I have written a few short Green Sky pieces myself and have begun planning a more substantial work (a prequel to the trilogy), but that's on the back burner right now because I am also trying to finish my master's thesis in molecular biology.

I'm a twentysomething recent college grad trying to find a job in publishing. I watch way too much tv and collect way too many books. I like sewing, crafting, anthropology, quidditch (I played in college!), and Southern Gothic music. I dabble in pretty much any writing medium and am trying to improve my photoshop skills.
I've been in fandom for about 8 years and have a terrible habit of hoping fandoms and being involved in way more fandoms at one time than I probably should. I've been into various anime fandoms, Sherlock, and Teen Wolf, but my biggest current fandoms are Marvel (MCU, Young Avengers, and Ms. Marvel primarily), Harry Potter, Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural, and Gotham. I'm also into Star Trek, The Librarians, Leverage, Jupiter Ascending, Grimm, The Flash, Sleepy Hollow, MisSpelled, Better Off Ted, Almost Human, Welcome to Night Vale, Young Justice, Person of Interest, and probably a lot more I've forgotten at the moment. But I can be convinced to give nearly anything a try :)

I'm a bit iffy on Sleepy Hollow now tbh, but I'm holding out hope they'll pull it together lol But the Librarians did not disappoint at all!
Yes, friending is great!

With all due deference to our noble host, I'm older than older than compost! :) I started writing fanfic in 2012, and have mostly written Narnia, so far. I joined DW at the time of Ruth's last 3SF - I love the way it lets us play around, testing out fandoms and stray ideas and writing styles and having fun generally. I'm not sure where I'll go from here, in writing; time to start a new book-length fic, I think, though work is about to swallow a lot of time.

I have long been a fan of anything and everything by C.S. Lewis and by Tolkien; my TV fandoms range from Star Trek: Voyager, a sentimental favorite, to Agent Carter and Forever (with the Welsh actor who played Hornblower, another literary sentimental favorite of mine). I love anything to do with Spain, and I feel most at home on the shore of a lake in the north woods - preferably with a book or fishing rod in hand.

My primary fandoms are Narnia, Marvel, LotR, Star Wars... etc, but I write about pretty much whatever strikes at the moment, and I read a lot more than I write.
Not really sure what else to say, so I'll stop before I start rambling, but I hope to see you all around!

I started out on FF.net, where I'm marmota-b (I still don't know how you do links, okay?) http://www.fanfiction.net/~marmotab
And marmota_b on AO3 http://archiveofourown.org/users/marmota_b/
I like Narnia, Tolkien, Swallows & Amazons; for some reason I've also ended up writing about Highlander: The Series (or rather, namely, Methos) and creating a Marvel AU. I think the latter go to show that fandoms I feel compelled to write about may not necessarily be the things I love most unequivocally (after all, there isn't often that much to add to those). There are lots of other things I like; who knows whether anything will come of it.
I'm Czech and study English, so part of the initial impulse to write fanfiction - aside from the general impulse to write fanfiction - was to find out if I can use English to write fiction (with the opportunity to receive feedback, you know!). Turns out I can, quite well. I mostly struggle with stylistics (right now, I'm stuck on a chapter of Narnian letters that a) have to sound Narnian, b) have to convey the characters writing them. Fun!) And plots. Don't expect anything particularly plotty from me.
(Oh, and if you haven't noticed yet, I like parentheses.)
