3 Sentence Ficathon

3 Sentence Ficathon Banner

EDIT!  THIS POST IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW PROMPTS,  PLEASE POST NEW PROMPTS
HERE!

CaramelSilver isn’t running the awesome 3 sentence ficathon this year, but she said I could do it in her place!!  (Banner courtesy of CaramelSilver and thanks so much!)

What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do?
You post prompts!  When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please.

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish.  If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again!  Multiple fills of the same prompt allowed.

I'm not a member of Dreamwidth
No problem.  You can comment anonymously or through open ID

Can anyone play?
Yes!  Please pimp this to your flist, I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!

I'm cross-posting to LJ but we will keep all prompts and fills here, so they are in one awesome place (and with less spam).

Here's a link for spreading the word to all your friends and comms (thanks [personal profile] snacky !)

How long can it go?
CaramelSilver kept the 2011 3 Sentence Ficathon up for a month.  I'd suggest closing it on Sunday, April 7, 2013.  How does that sound? (edit:  If we reach 5,000 comments sooner, I'll start a new one).

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want.  Last year, a lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag.

Gosh who are all these people writing such great prompts and fills?
Good question!  Come to the friending meme and introduce yourself if you like.

As  [personal profile] lady_songsmith explains, for the 2011 3 Sentence Ficathon, [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine created a delicious account to archive the 3 Sentence Ficathon.   [personal profile] lady_songsmith has reactivated the archive on delicious for this challenge, so, here is the account (nothing current added yet, though): https://previous.delicious.com/3sentence She asks that if anyone would be willing to help knock down the backlog of the prolific-ness thus far, let her know!!  (She adds:  I know folks are kinda down on delicious with the changes, but, hey, it's an archive already set up with useful tags!)

On the subject of archiving, I really encourage people to collect and post their fills elsewhere.  That way, we can find your work more easily again, redundancy is always good and it's really useful for future remixes and other challenges and gift exchanges you might participate in. I'll start a linking post so that if you do collect all your fills and post them on your own blog or an archive like AO3, you can give give us the link in comments.

Ha, I started thinking about that as I was writing this, partially because I've been reading about Roman imperial succession lately. My suspicion is that there were several people Caspian was considering naming heir, probably old friends and trusted subordinates (I don't expect Drinian to have outlived Caspian, but I bet he was at the top of the list) -- grown men, anyway. He was holding off on making a final official public decision until right before he died, just in case, but there were probably documents drawn up before he set sail at the beginning of SC, just in case he didn't survive the journey. And then Rilian comes back and probably there is a small civil war, ehehehehe.

I'm glad you liked it! It spurred plot bunnies, as I said to cofax below.

Mord'Sith wore their hair long as a sign of the authority, tightly plaited so their tresses did not impede their fighting skills (they thought Confessors were silly to have their hair flying loose during battle).

A braid was often woven by a fellow Sister, a show of camaraderie, the braid itself representing discipline and devotion as well as being practical.

In contrast, letting someone unbraid your hair, allowing them to release your locks, to caress the nape of your neck...that was a sign of trust, a far more intimate act than those outside the Sisterhood realised.

"You're perverted, allowing explicit fiction and real person fic and probably song fic and all sorts of other monstrosities," fumed FF.

AO blinked lazily, countering, "I offer greater freedom and listen to my members, and while your traffic currently outnumbers mine, more and more people are joining me because they appreciate my openness."

They could both agree that plagiarism was unacceptable, but on most other matters, their differences were greater than their similarities.

This was her first visit to the Tau'ri - after hearing so much about them from both Jacob and Martouf. She was intrigued, eager, to make her own impressions.

Walking down the ramp at Stargate Command, Anise and her host both spotted something that awoke not just their curiosity, but also warmer feelings; two Tau'ri men were there, welcoming them, and Freya and Anise just knew it would be hard to pick which one was the more intriguing.

Once they've been introduced, Cassandra takes his hands and spins him around in a wild circle; she says, "You'll marry, and marry, and marry, but you won't marry me."

Aeneas gives a startled little cough--it's ridiculous, of course, he doesn't intend on taking more than one wife, and certainly not the pitiful mad princess (even if she is less pitiable and less mad and more charming than he had expected) and gods help him, he is still holding Cassandra's hands.

"I wish you would," Cassandra whispers, her eyes wide.
[I blame you and your prompts entirely for the fact that I've more or less started shipping these two in a bittersweet, might-have-been sort of way]
