An anniversary of sorts and I must be missing something

So, on March 19, 2009, Rthstewart opened an account on fanfiction.net.  TWO years -- the cotton (traditional) and china (modern) anniversary.  I always get all mushy and nostalgic on anniversaries and milestones (TQSiT is getting near one AHHHHHHH!!!).  I've been talking to myself a lot in the car about the upcoming two year mark as I listen to the Doctor Who Season 5 soundtrack.  (Fortunately my colleague no longer requires lifts to the office so I'm alone with me, myself, and I).  I am pushing hard to get chapter 9 up on March 22, which would be two years from when I first started posting TSG.  Scary much?  I'm scared.  And scarred. 

AW 9 is coming slowly at about 5,000 words so far.  It will be a shorter chapter and as I mentioned earlier, it is entirely letters, such as the following:

Dear Edmund:
You called it. I knew it would be awful returning, and it is. My old gang expected me to be back with Them and their old ways. Anyone not an utter rotter wanted nothing to do with me. When I tried to behave properly, the decent folk thought I was a spy and got even more suspicious. I keep telling myself what you said, that it’s the work of weeks and months, and by my actions I shall be judged.

Which led to the rabbit. Carter and some of his gang had cornered the poor thing behind the gym and were throwing rocks at it. It wasn’t a Talking Rabbit, of course, but rabbits aren’t very far from Rats (though rabbits are not rodents like rats, they are lagomorphs due to the teeth and other anatomical features) and even if it had been a hedgehog or a snake, the thing should not have been tortured and frightened to death by schoolboys. etc.


YES!  Carter and the Rabbit and Eustace keeping the secret under torture!!!  And then he writes to Edmund about it!

Which brings me to the help me F List readers.  I've got a long list of letters going back and forth between the characters, some canon, some OCs.  I know that invariably someone has some awesome idea where I smack my hand against my forehead and say, "Why didn't I think of that?"

So, given where we are and where things are going, what are some of the letters you would expect to see or want to see?  Anyone?  Who?  What?

The 15 year timeframe comes from the dubious Lewis timeline which states that they were in Narnia for 15 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narnian_timeline
It is of questionable value -- it is in parts inconsistent with the books and the ages do not make a lot of sense. Jill and Eustace in particular make no sense at all. Sticking with the 15 years is one of those things that I wished I had not done. I would have preferred to stretch it out further, make them even older and I have gotten around that to a point by making the time in Narnia run longer -- days and years are longer in Narnia by some undefined measure. And I really, REALLY hate that Lewis puts the train crash in 1949. I may bump that out a few years myself as there is just so much going on that merits being written about.

Time running longer in Narnia : in fact, I like the idea. Why would the time be exactly like on Earth ? Different planet/world, different length of days, months and years. Earth is OUR norm, but not everewhere's norm ! :-)

But I understand your frustration, and I myself tend to add years in my imagination to the Pevensie's reign.

And I saw your review of Under Cover and thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I picked it up as a pinch hit in the Narnia fic exchange, and it came very, very easily to me. I'm not working on that chapter right now of AW as I'm concentrating on H&M, but a lot of will be pulled from Under Cover as we are nearing Eustace's return to Narnia. I had originally intended to not write Part 2 at all and begin Part 3 after the war, in the fall of 1946 and send Eustace and Jill there later. I really wanted Eustace to utter a particular line that was in my head at least 2.5 years ago. But, he can still say the line and I can still hold to the timeline. I'm still working through Jill's character, but we'll get there. After H&M.
