INCOMING FIC - Exchanges

So, I just participated in the AU Exchange and have a story that I wrote that I"m just THRILLED with that is NOT Narnia.  I got a charming Harry Potter alternate sorting hat story here, unafraid of toil.  I really screwed up my sign up and ended up in the pinch hit pile, so I feel badly but it seems my author enjoyed this and I'm happy to have participated.  I spotted an AU Vorkosigan, a Shuri doesn't get snapped, a Rilian/Bucky Barnes and a Susan Pevensie/Elizabeth Swan, a couple of Leverage stories,  including a Star Wars fusion (wow I hope that one is good) and a couple of GBBO that look very fun, including a Pride and Prejudice GBBO?  Also Rey on Jakku with dragons.

The whole library is here and I'm looking forward to digging into it in another week or so because...

The Narnia Fic Exchange will be going live next week and uhhhh I've been busy.  LOTS of stuff with my fingerprints on it.  So go forth and read over this (for an American) long weekend and celebrate the labor of others and your own.

I hope you all are OK.  My world has narrowed a lot lately.  I'm not engaging on DW much -- more on Twitter and Discord.  This tends to happen when I'm up to my eyeballs in fic.  I had my first (negative) COVID test.  and I suspect work will be picking up again A LOT by mid-September.  In the meantime, I'm enjoying the quietest time I"ve had in 7 months.

Thank for linking the fic! It was indeed very charming.

I'm looking forwards to the Narnia reveals - and I'm hoping I can sneak another story or two in! Everything wanted to become too long for me and my beta to cope with so I'm not sure what I'll end up with...

Something like a month ago Magnus Archives fandom got really excited about the concept of the GBBO AU and I was watching it going "Can this penetrate all of fandom to the same extent something like Omegaverse has? Please?"

I saw that essay. There was so much more to that lawsuit than appeared in the NYT article and it's so extremely WTF-y.

I'm glad you're having a chance to catch your breath at least a bit!

Aw, I'm sorry your recipient hasn't been responsive. I'm looking forward to reading it when reveals happen!

The Clone Wars gave me Obi-Wan-in-the-Prequels-Era feelings in very serious measure. I don't have anything constructive to say other than that a vector drawing shouldn't be so handsome, but I know what they were working from, so I can't blame them.

Isn't the AU exchange fab? I loved my gift (it was an OUAT fic) and was fairly proud of the Leverage fic that I wrote. I have a whole bunch of other stories saved to read later too (MCU, Leverage, Star Wars, etc.). Glad you had fun with it also, that you're having some quiet time, and that your COVID test was negative, of course! :)

I'm sure your giftee will love what you wrote for them (pretty sure I've read it and thought it was cool, if it's the story I think it is...) but maybe they didn't get a chance to read/comment yet. RL can seriously get in the way of fic sometimes ;)

Hey rth! Finally had some time to catch up with catching up. :-) Glad you're doing well and that you've had some quiet time for yourself.

Looking forward to the NFE reveal and reading your fics!

As for me, I stupidly volunteered for more responsibilities at work and that has caused massive chaos in my usual routine. After a bit of downtime, there's just too much to keep track up in my current project/group and I'm lamenting the loss of my old manager, who finally found greener (and less stressful) pastures at a new job (last day sometime next week).
