Welcome to the Three Sentence Ficathon!

At over 4600 comments and responses to Entry 1, it's time to move to Entry 2. Please post all new prompts and responses here. You can still respond to and comment on old prompts here.

What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do first?
You can start 3SF by posting prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please. So, for example,

Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand."

Open ended and anthropomorphic fills are popular too, such as:

Any, Any, "I don't like sand."

or

Earth geography, sand, "I don't like humans very much, either."

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt are allowed and even encouraged! (We get really fun stories going this way).

Can I still post if I need more than 3 sentences? Or should I just abuse grammar in ways the English language never contemplated?

Can I spread the word?
Yes, please. I generally fail at creating banners and embed codes but if you create one and make it really idiot-proof, I might manage it. Or we can just cross-post. If you create one, I'll try to post it and everyone can use it.

How long will it go?
Until February 29, 2020. But the entry stays open permanently.

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes and could be helpful for Yuletide bears, too.

What about spoilers, content and archive warnings, triggers, pairings, ratings, tags, and squick?

I thought a lot about this. It wasn't an issue the last 3 times I ran this. In my experience, this typically gets too big, moves too fast, and the stories are too short for content warnings and ratings to even apply. It is too big for me to moderate in this way. You should assume spoilers are fair game and that the initial poster and the responder have opted to use no content warnings or tags. This means AO3 content warnings for dubcon, violence, canon character death, underage, etc. COULD be present. I've found personally that I can skim and scroll by stuff that, from the prompt, I can tell isn't my favorite flavor of delicious cake. Use your best judgment and be prepared to skip over things that aren't your thing. In this format, the obligation is on you, the reader, to protect yourself from triggering content.

The girl under the Ladybug mask (or the strip of black fabric substituting) looks pale and fragile and tiny in these green lounge pants Mylène thinks might be Rena Rouge's—they're safety-pinned at the waist and calves, anyway, to stay on without being a trip hazard, and Rena Rouge is both taller and wider than she is—and Ladybug hardly needs the cloth mask to keep her face hidden, not with the black hoodie she's wearing, that Mylène bets is Chat Noir's as much because she keeps sniffing the inside of the hood as anything else.

The dirty jeans the tired boy under the Chat Noir mask is wearing fit him too well to be borrowed, and he might have been wearing that too-large bright red tee already—it says Lady Luck in scrolling black, interrupting the pattern of spades and clubs like Ladybug's spots; Nino has one just like it, reportedly so does Adrien, and if Chat Noir doesn't have the budget for an unofficial Ladybug merchandise collection that outpaces Adrien's, Mylène will still be surprised to find he owns less than Nino does—but if the lounge pants are Rena Rouge's, then the shirt probably belongs to Carapace.

Mylène has borrowed more than one of Ivan's sweaters just to hang out in on days she's worried she might be today's akuma, like today; whatever makes some people heroes, she hopes it chose people who love each other—or at least who became friends after becoming heroes: as awful as tonight's gone, Mylène hopes Ladybug and Chat Noir at least have the small comfort of borrowing clothes that say I care about you just by belonging to people who do.

After everything, after death and darkness and despair, Finarfin realizes that he does not have clothes suitable for a King, nor is there time to make some before he must appear before what remains of the court.

His own were always carefully constructed to give the image he wanted, of a prince so beneath notice and beneath the crown that neither of his brothers ever looked at him as a threat to their positions.

He goes through his father's closet and his brother's, carefully pulls out only those pieces of his half-brother's and nephews that will not be recognized, and tries not to let his tears stain the delicate fabrics as he makes himself into an echo of others.

He probably looks ridiculous, standing out here by the sea, in a sweater several sizes too big for him. But he looks at Henry, who is standing beside him, and he doesn't care. He touches the soft, familiar wool, and he feels warm and alive.

Stiles's shirts don't really fit him any better now than they did when Stiles was in high school. But that doesn't stop Derek from pulling the plaid button-downs out of the closet whenever Stiles is away and tugging them on.

The sleeves are just a little too tight on his arms and Derek can only button about half the shirt, but he falls asleep like that regardless, with Stiles's scent in his nose and the sensation of his arms wrapping around Derek in a hug.

Aw, Derek, sweetie~ 🖤

I will have Derek feels forever.

I mean. I think that's fair. (And I am not surprised.)

"Heyyyy, Tim," Robin says in a hushed (flirtatious?) voice, when Tim opens his window - the mask whites out her eyelids, blond strands fall across the vivid red of her lipstick, red like her tunic, and Tim's never-- Tim doesn't stare at girls or lipstick or at the figures of female costumed heroes, but Robin's never worn lipstick before.

"Urk," Tim squeaks out.

Robin frowns, discomfitted for a second (Tim wants to reach out), then her chin dips - Tim gulps down useless denials - and her face breaks into a wide, wicked smile that's all Steph and all Robin, and she jumps down the windowsill into Tim's room.

His coat is too large to fit her, and his blood never washed out of it completely. But Bess dons it over her shirt and her breeches; she pulls her hair back into a knot and ties white lace over her throat, until it covers the scar where the bullet grazed her.

Again, the highwayman goes riding.

Jowd would be the last to claim any sense of fashion, or he would be if wife and friend didn't firmly share that spot already, but even he could see that green didn't suit Cabanela. For his sake he kept his amusement at bay for now—it could come later in comfort and he did owe the man after all—but it was a hard thing when his own large coat looked several sizes larger than it already was on Cabanela's much slimmer frame, and if done correctly could likely be wrapped around him at least twice, which on second thought may have been a good idea as Cabanela shivered somewhere in there, hair still dripping water.
Ah well, there were always other methods and Jowd wrapped his arm around Cabanela's narrow shoulders buried under the coat's folds and held him there until he warmed up from the impromptu swim in the river.

Dick reminds himself he can do this, that he has, in fact, done this before. But Bruce was alive that time, and not dead or lost in time or whatever fiction they were creating for themselves this time.

He glances in the locker mirror and for a moment is stunned to see Bruce looking at him, cowl up, ready for another night patrolling his beloved city; the features morph back into his own, his chin sharper, jaw less chiseled with age and rich bone structure.

Dick takes a deep breath and closes the door, shutting out the reflection of his soulmate.

"Have you seen Legolas?"

Gimli pointed outside, to what was left of the fortress' merlons.

Walking towards his friend, Aragon noticed how shining was the shoulder armour that Legolas was wearing and, as soon as he got closer, he recognized the elegant shape of mallorn-leaves, typical of Lothlórien decorations.

"Hopefully we won't have to pick up things from a loved one ever again," said the man now standing beside his friend.

Legolas kept his gaze fixed on all the corpses scattered over the walls. It wasn't like he couldn't recognize friends from foes, he just didn't want to anymore.

"It's not fair, Aragorn"

“I know”

He knew very well but, what more could he say to a dear friend who just lost his love?
