What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do first?
You can start 3SF by posting prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please. So, for example,

Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand."

Open ended and anthropomorphic fills are popular too, such as:

Any, Any, "I don't like sand."

or

Earth geography, sand, "I don't like humans very much, either."

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt are allowed and even encouraged! (We get really fun stories going this way).

Can I still post if I need more than 3 sentences? Or should I just abuse grammar in ways the English language never contemplated?

Can I spread the word?
Yes, please. I generally fail at creating banners and embed codes but if you create one and make it really idiot-proof, I might manage it. Or we can just cross-post. If you create one, I'll try to post it and everyone can use it.

How long will it go?
Until February 29, 2020. But the entry stays open permanently.

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes and could be helpful for Yuletide bears, too.

What about spoilers, content and archive warnings, triggers, pairings, ratings, tags, and squick?
I thought a lot about this. It wasn't an issue the last 3 times I ran this. In my experience, this typically gets too big, moves too fast, and the stories are too short for content warnings and ratings to even apply. It is too big for me to moderate in this way. You should assume spoilers are fair game and that the initial poster and the responder have opted to use no content warnings or tags. This means AO3 content warnings for dubcon, violence, canon character death, underage, etc. COULD be present. I've found personally that I can skim and scroll by stuff that, from the prompt, I can tell isn't my favorite flavor of delicious cake. Use your best judgment and be prepared to skip over things that aren't your thing. In this format, the obligation is on you, the reader, to protect yourself from triggering content.

The Addams Family/Any, Any, 'you're family now'

"Well, of course, my dear," Gomez said enthusiastically, "we celebrate all the ways that people can be in this family, regardless of what their schoolmates think about them! Now, once we finish the ritual fencing match, you'll have all the rights and privileges associated with the Addams name."

Luna caught the thrown rapier with just enough time to bat away Gomez's first exploratory thrust, the first of many attempts, both physical and psychological, to see how well she would fit in.

LOVE IT. Of course Luna will fit in! The ritual fencing match is perfect lol.

It also goes on longer than the time Luna has to fend off Gomez's rapier work.

She is a great fit for the Addams. I think Wednesday will enjoy having another girl around.

Lurch led Aziraphale and Crowley down the hallway in utter silence until he swung open the heavy oak door and uttered, "Your room."

Aziraphale straightened his tie nervously, jumping at the sound of a howl from a nearby wolf (at least, he hoped it was a wolf), though he waited until the door was closed and they were alone to say, "What on earth have you got us into?"

"Oh, I could get to like this place," Crowley said, stretching out on the fainting couch decorated with carved gargoyles.

Ahaha, Crowley would love it. Big spooky fan, he is. XD

Excellent; Crowley would definitely settle right in. ^.^ Don't worry, Aziraphale, I'm sure they'll adopt you too in no time. XD

Keith stalked into the conservatory, sword in one hand and looking ready to strangle someone with the other. "Shiro! Why. Does your uncle. Keep trying to sword fight with me?!"

"Because he's trying to make sure you're good enough for Shiro," Wednesday said from her bench under the African stranglers.

Keith choked on nothing. "What?!"

Shiro shrugged helplessly. "That's how Uncle Gomez says he determines a measure of a man. How well he reacts to surprise attacks. I tried to tell him he didn't have to worry about that with you, but he wouldn't listen."

Morticia smiled beatifically at Keith and fed another forkful of hamburger to Cleopatra. "It's so good to see you and Gomez getting along so well. I knew you had to be special for Shiro to bring you home, but Gomez's instincts of a person are never wrong."

"En garde, Shiro's boyfriend!" echoed from the living room, and Keith cursed and prepared for another match.

YOU WROTE THE THING! I love~ I love that Shiro tried to tell Gomez it wasn't necessary, and also that Keith has just . . . gone with it thus far (handling it perfectly well, of course) and Morticia's calm reactions. 🖤

And Keith just like 'welp this is apparently just A Thing' by the end. XD Perfect.

As soon as I saw you'd posted this prompt, I had to. I HAD TO. I'm still not over the idea of Shiro, of all people, being one of the Addamses. XD

Death was not something that concerned Morticia overmuch in general, but the news of what had happened to her dear cousin Emily and her husband was shocking, and worse than that, the news that they had left behind a son even younger than Wednesday. Said son, who shared Emily's wide green eyes and golden hair, was now standing in their foyer with a small suitcase, staring up at Lurch in what could only be described as terror.

Too many shocks to his young system, Morticia decided, the only explanation for why he would be afraid of someone as nonthreatening as Lurch. It would be good for him to be here, in a stable environment. "Lurch, please take Barnaby's things up to Pugsley's room. He's very graciously offered to share until the other bedroom is prepared."

She knelt down as far as she could in her dress and extended her hand with a smile. "Hello, Barnaby. I'm your mother's cousin Morticia. You'll be staying with us from now on."

He stared at her and her hand, but didn't make a move toward her. "I want to go home," he whispered.

"This can be your home, if you want it to be," Morticia said kindly. "You're an Addams, dear boy, and you will always be welcome here."

Aww, poor bb Bunny~ Definitely could have done better raised by the Addamses (then again, who wouldn't? XD) just . . . give him some time to adjust, I imagine. >.>

He would've done so much better being raised by the Addamses, omfg. Even if the family was strange, they would've encouraged hobbies other than revenge and he'd have come at the hero thing from a much more well-adjusted angle.

Healthy balance! Encouragement! Support! Love! Somewhere safe to go back to! (And I'm sure no one would follow him there to try and find out more about him even after the hero thing . . . not more than once or twice, anyway. XD)

EXACTLY. And I mean, they wouldn't really discourage revenge; if Barnaby really wanted to go after his parents' killer, Morticia's response would probably be "well let's teach you how to fence!" But being surrounded by an actual loving family and encouraged to pursue other interests as well would probably go a long way to giving him a much healthier outlook on things in general.

They really would encourage it, I'm sure, especially if he was so determined on his own . . . but yes, exactly. Don't let it consume you, dear; and also filling his life with other things as well. Addamses lend themselves surprisingly well to being very well-adjusted. XD
