caramelsilver ran one last year on Livejournal and I did two over here a few years ago. We'll keep it open until January 31, 2019 which should give everyone time to play a little. This is a delightful part of the online fandom community.

What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do first?
You post prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please. So, for example,

Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand."

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt are allowed and even encouraged! (We get really fun stories going this way).

Can I still post if I need more than 3 sentences? Or should I just abuse grammar in ways the English language never contemplated?

Yes, please. I'd love to create a nifty banner with an embed code but I fail at it. So if you create one, I'll post it and everyone can use it.

How long will it go?
Tentatively, we'll close it on January 31, 2019.

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes and could be helpful for Yuletide bears, too.

What about spoilers, content warnings, triggers, pairings, ratings, tags, and squick?
I thought about this. It wasn't an issue the last 2 times I ran this but times change. In my experience, this typically gets too big, moves too fast, and the stories are too short for content warnings and ratings. You should assume spoilers are fair game and that the initial poster and responder have opted to use no content warnings or tags. I've found personally that I can skim by stuff that, from the prompt, I can tell isn't my favorite flavor of delicious cake. Use your best judgment and be prepared to skip over things that aren't your thing.

"What did you do?!" Jack yelled over the rumbling of a large stone wall moving. "Nothing!" Daniel yelled back. "I just touched that." He gestured vaguely at a stone carving.

The rumbling stopped, then there was the sound of something very large walking up stone steps.

"RUN!" Jack yelled at Daniel, dragging him out by his vest as he called over his walkie-talkie for Carter & Teal'c to do the same.

Ahaha, this is perfect! Never, never touch mysterious carvings in mysterious temples.

It doesn't hurt as much as when you closed your eyes on your Quest Bed; this is faster than bleeding to death. But still, seeing Terezi standing over you, you can't tell if the feeling of burning in your chest is because of the sword she ran through your ribcage, or some weak, misfunctioning pulse of your bloodpusher.

Then you eyes close and you think your dreams are full of teal rain falling on your face.

Oh, damn, this is lovely, and an absolute a kick in the heart.

hahah this is fine..... By which I of course mean OUCH MY HEART!!! That last line is painfully beautiful and sweet.

Ramses raised an eyebrow, but remained quiet as requested, looking around the room in the flickering torchlight.

"This is the realm of the old gods; they are sleeping," his guide murmured, barely a breath, "we do not wish to wake them as we pass through. Follow me, Brother of Demons."

This is intriguing and very atmospheric, in an unsettling way, and I totally love it. Great sense of danger.

Thank you very much; not much unsettles Ramses himself, true, but I definitely had an eerie mental picture of a very old temple that still felt 'alive' in mind with this.

"Plagg, you little shit, wake up!"

"This had better be a run to the gourmet cheese shop."

"After the akuma, I promise—Plagg, claws out!"

Oh, nice! I don’t know enough about this canon to fully appreciate what’s happening here, but that is some great dialogue, and "This had better be a run to the gourmet cheese shop." totally had me laughing.

Plagg is a god of sorts who enables Adrien (our other speaker here) to transform into the destruction-wielding superhero Chat Noir. This works better when Plagg has recently eaten. Plagg is also a cat and acts like it, and given the choice, he will eat only cheese.

(I suspect the specificity of his canonical tastes is largely because Adrien's bank account can take the hit and if that were not the case Plagg would express a preference for some less spendy kind of cheese, but that's sorta not the point.)

Existence has felt fuzzy for a time now. The multiverse can make do without Her light, it seems--but in that infinitesimal moment before she fades, forever, a whisper carried on half a breath catches her ears:

"O Dawnflower, O Everlight, " says a little, tiny gnome, almost comically small as she stands hunched over a bloody, broken goliath, "Help us, please."

Oh man, this is great, and really lovely. It seems the multiverse needs her after all, and I hope she actually is able to hang on and heal the goliath instead of fading.
