caramelsilver ran one last year on Livejournal and I did two over here a few years ago. We'll keep it open until January 31, 2019 which should give everyone time to play a little. This is a delightful part of the online fandom community.

What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do first?
You post prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please. So, for example,

Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand."

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt are allowed and even encouraged! (We get really fun stories going this way).

Can I still post if I need more than 3 sentences? Or should I just abuse grammar in ways the English language never contemplated?

Yes, please. I'd love to create a nifty banner with an embed code but I fail at it. So if you create one, I'll post it and everyone can use it.

How long will it go?
Tentatively, we'll close it on January 31, 2019.

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes and could be helpful for Yuletide bears, too.

What about spoilers, content warnings, triggers, pairings, ratings, tags, and squick?
I thought about this. It wasn't an issue the last 2 times I ran this but times change. In my experience, this typically gets too big, moves too fast, and the stories are too short for content warnings and ratings. You should assume spoilers are fair game and that the initial poster and responder have opted to use no content warnings or tags. I've found personally that I can skim by stuff that, from the prompt, I can tell isn't my favorite flavor of delicious cake. Use your best judgment and be prepared to skip over things that aren't your thing.

"They look happy," says Asra quietly, watching his former apprentice dance with Princess Navra, bedecked in only the finest cloths and jewelry the palace has to offer. "I'm glad they have you, Nadi."

Nadia sees the melancholy in his smile. "They were happy with you, too, Asra," she says, certainty in every word. "What is in the present does not negate that."

His smile does not lose any of its ache, but something softer does join it. That is probably the best she can do for now.

"Send my love to your new lover, treat her better, we've gotta let go of all of our ghosts, we know we ain't kids no more" Kara sang along with the song on the car radio while driving herself and Alex back to the Danvers house for a relaxing weekend.

"I'm glad you got your eyes on the road and on journalism and crime fighting, sis, I love you honest to God, but your singing could use some work." Alex commented.

"Oh well, at least I mastered the art of those things," Kara replied with a smile as she spared a brief glance from the road to her sister when she suddenly grinned, "wait, should I get a tutor to perfect my singing skills? Think about it, I'll be singing while writing an article AND a crime fighter, how amazing would that be?"

Mabel smiled as she traced her fingers over the photograph, because while she had enjoyed indulging in her crush on Mermando, he and the Manatee Queen made too cute of a couple for Mabel to hate her romantic rival. All she could do was wish them joy in their new lives together and gather her art supplies to make them a wedding present unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. She didn't know what she was going to make yet, but the gift was for royalty, so it was definitely going to need extra beads and sequins, tons of them.

Tomoe smiled softly, watching her sleeping husband, crumpled sideways on the couch in a way that had to be straining the bandaged ribs revealed by his lack of a shirt.

"Take care of him, my love," Tomoe said quietly, bending to brush an insubstantial kiss to his brow, "and let him take care of you."

She moved away with a sigh that was more contentment than regret as Barnaby entered and instantly spotted Kotetsu, a soft look coming into his eyes as he moved to gently nudge Kotetsu awake, drawing him away into the bedroom as Tomoe returned whence she had come.

BRB sobbing forever. <3 <3 <3 This is just perfect for them.

Right? I'm the same way. I think it's because the show unsubtly implies some similarities between Barnaby and Tomoe, and it makes me want to see her reaction to him/him and Kotetsu.

Tomoe froze, clawed fingers crumpling the paper in his hand. Send my love to your new lover, it read, in a familiar spikily elegant script.

Whirling in a flurry of silk and foxfire, he flew over the miles to the small house, only to stop just inside the doorway, his senses overwhelmed with blood; a small, elegant figure sprawled gracelessly across the floor, her kimono sodden crimson and her chest-

Tomoe turned, meeting a wide, sharp, angry grin, then dropping his gaze to the shredded, still-bleeding heart in Akura's outstretched hand.

WOW DARK but let's be real, Akura wouldn't tolerate anybody taking Tomoe from him...

Yeah. . . Akura is a very all fucking mine sort of partner. >.> (It's honestly a little amazing Nanami didn't get hurt any worse when Akura was around in canon.)

Gosh, tell me about it. I legit thought he was going to go after her violently for awhile.

Adora promised they'd always look out for each other and Catra had actually been dumb enough to believe her, right up until Adora ditched her for bow guy and stupid sparkle princess. Now that she has them, she kind of wants to rip their friend-stealing hearts out, but no. She'd much rather see the look on their faces when Adora inevitably does it for her.

Harvey watched as Sabrina wandered around the school with a bright smile on her face and wondered who it was that made her happy now that they weren't together.

Was it the guy that had come to his house that night?

He thought that he'd know if she'd gotten together with Roz or Suzie, so he didn't ask either of them.

As he followed her from a distance, he got his answer in the form of three girls exiting Ms. Wardwell's office right as she was walking by the office and they crowded her immediately by the lockers.

She grinned at them, Harvey swallowed painfully as one of them noticed him watching them and glared at him. Sabrina also saw him watching and smiled slightly at him before the four of them disappeared down the crowded hallway.

So. That was that then, Harvey thought as he turned to walk in the opposite direction.
