Someone did this banner for me a couple of years ago. It's great, isn't it?

caramelsilver ran one last year on Livejournal and I did two over here a few years ago. We'll keep it open until January 31, 2019 which should give everyone time to play a little. This is a delightful part of the online fandom community.
What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.
What do I do first?
You post prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:
fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.
Only one prompt per comment please. So, for example,
Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand."
What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt are allowed and even encouraged! (We get really fun stories going this way).
Can I still post if I need more than 3 sentences? Or should I just abuse grammar in ways the English language never contemplated?
Yes. Yes.
But I'm not a member of Dreamwidth
No problem. You can comment anonymously or through open ID
Can anyone play?
Yes! Please signal boost this to your flist, followers, and any other places you frequent. Come one, come all!
The more people who come and play, the better!
Can I spread the word?
Yes, please. I'd love to create a nifty banner with an embed code but I fail at it. So if you create one, I'll post it and everyone can use it.
How long will it go?
Tentatively, we'll close it on January 31, 2019.
Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes and could be helpful for Yuletide bears, too.
What about spoilers, content warnings, triggers, pairings, ratings, tags, and squick?
I thought about this. It wasn't an issue the last 2 times I ran this but times change. In my experience, this typically gets too big, moves too fast, and the stories are too short for content warnings and ratings. You should assume spoilers are fair game and that the initial poster and responder have opted to use no content warnings or tags. I've found personally that I can skim by stuff that, from the prompt, I can tell isn't my favorite flavor of delicious cake. Use your best judgment and be prepared to skip over things that aren't your thing.
And here, have some icons!

I'll start things off...

Critical Role
Vax and Vex sign up for Abyssal lessons, enjoying the way the adults around them flinch at the scratchy hissing; at night, when Vax sneaks into Vex's room and they pull the blankets up over their heads, they whisper to each other in Common, Mother's lopsided accent stretching their vowels out.
(They stop when Vex realizes, months after the fact, that it's gone, grinded down to dust after years of living among elves; Vax sounds almost like Syldor, now.)
Magic (Harry Potter)
"Hermione," Harry said, shaking his head and marvelling a little at the complexities of Hermione's brain, "it's magic; just . . . go with it."
Hermione gave him a look that suggested he had asked her to torch a library rather than accept a simple fact, and Harry threw up his hands and resigned himself to being a tool in Hermione's quest to find out how magical languages work.

Star Wars, Finn & Poe
When Finn pauses, clearly considering, and then says, “A dozen… and a half?” Poe can only laugh.

Wrestling, Seth Rollins/Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn
***
He wakes up pressed between them - okay, wow, he took two flights and crossed an international border last night, Jesus, he's an idiot - and he can tell it's at least past noon because there's English mixed into the French and Arabic.
It's Kevin curled against his back, lower pitch of his voice vibrating against Seth's bare skin; his French whispers and curls fluidly into a long single run that's peppered with a scattering of offhanded likely-rude Arabic that makes Sami giggle against Seth's shoulder.
Sami's French has always been something he himself mocks - yeah, they're gonna kick me out, je n'ai jamais appris l'accent aigu - but his Arabic is beautiful, all dips and rolls, and he laughs as Seth mumbles out a very shaky marhabaan while yawning and whacking Kevin in the chest.
Souvenirs de Français (Antique; Jin Hyuk/Sun Woo)
He blinked, then cocked his head, a smile tugging at his lips. "Est-ce que tu me détestes vraiment parler français tant de, mon chér?" he asked playfully.
"Seuls les souvenirs que ce ramène." Jin Hyuk said, his glare softening as he approached, shaking his head.
Excuse the messy French, I am very tired right now and switching languages is higher-gear braining.
Teen Wolf, Derek (implied Derek/Stiles)
It's a secret he's been holding to his chest, closely, though it's no surprise that the people who knew his family back when remember. Stiles, of course, knows about his fluency in Spanish though none of the others for years.
It's only when Stiles and John invite him on their trip to Poland to visit their extended families that Derek decides to let them know that Polish is one of the languages he always spoke and understood.

Summary:
The Italian phrase most often rendered in English as "translators, traitors" loses, as Robert Frost said, its poetry when carried across from language to language: the English phrase lacks the consonance of the Italian; where either Italian word could take the place of the other in any poem without the metrical rhythm faltering, one English word is dactylic, the other a trochee.
There are five love languages: words, acts, gifts, time, touch.
