caramelsilver ran one last year on Livejournal and I did two over here a few years ago. We'll keep it open until January 31, 2019 which should give everyone time to play a little. This is a delightful part of the online fandom community.


What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do first?
You post prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please.  So, for example,

Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand."

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt are allowed and even encouraged!  (We get really fun stories going this way).

Can I still post if I need more than 3 sentences?  Or should I just abuse grammar in ways the English language never contemplated?

Yes, please.  I'd love to create a nifty banner with an embed code but I fail at it.  So if you create one, I'll post it and everyone can use it.

How long will it go?
Tentatively, we'll close it on January 31, 2019. 

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes and could be helpful for Yuletide bears, too.

What about spoilers, content warnings, triggers, pairings, ratings, tags, and squick?
I thought about this.  It wasn't an issue the last 2 times I ran this but times change.  In my experience, this typically gets too big, moves too fast, and the stories are too short for content warnings and ratings. You should assume spoilers are fair game and that the initial poster and responder have opted to use no content warnings or tags. I've found personally that I can skim by stuff that, from the prompt, I can tell isn't my favorite flavor of delicious cake. Use your best judgment and be prepared to skip over things that aren't your thing.

Dean Winchester slouches into his bedroom at the bunker, tossing his pack in the general direction of the bed (his room! with a bed that remembers him!) and staggers toward the bathroom. Almost before he gets his hand on the tap, the hot water starts to flow into the bath; he pats the concrete wall that's holding him up affectionately and peels his eyeballs back open.

He's exhausted and he's one long knot of pain but a hot shower and change of clothes are the only rest he's going to get, and he's so glad the bunker has his back.

The Flash: Barry: Hot Shower and Change of Clothes

This Battle had only one ending, and Barry wasn't going to fight this Metahuman at all, how could they even stop this one when all of Central City got hot and bothered like this?!

So The Flash sped home to his apartment and shed his clothes, thankful to be rid of the friction of his erection prodding against his uniform pants, and relieved himself to climax underneath the hot shower.

"As for the change of clothes... guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there," Barry said to himself as he sped naked out of his apartment, only to grab that Metahuman and bring him back to his apartment for some more fun one-on-one time.

Your Dean voice is awesome, I can just imagine him thinking of the bunker like this, you really captured his love of the place as his home ... beautifully done :)

Sugar wasn't lying when he said the apartment behind The Forge isn't much, but it does have a shower. One where he doesn't have to worry about anyone else's eyes or hands or dick or plastic shiv; one where the water runs hot for long enough to scrub away sweat and blood and the dirt of a shallow grave.

After, he tugs on broken-in clothes from the suitcase in the cab of the old blue truck and tries to feel like a new man.

Great characterization of a very difficult character to work with sometimes ;) I love this show, wish there was more fandom for it!

Warren shuddered as he flaked sooty ice free of his cuffs, then just shed the jacket and let it fall to the floor, rubbing his face on the way to the shower. The heat was already cranked as high as it would go - hot enough to be torture for anyone without his gifts - and he basked in the spray as he thawed out, still shivering uncomfortably.

He stayed in the shower until he was hot all through and actually starting to feel a bit waterlogged, thinking dark thoughts about seasonal villains, before he finally left it and dried off, pulling on a fresh pair of blessedly clean, comfortably worn jeans and a loose tank top.

The Brass Embassy, you’ve discovered, has amenities that the rest of London can only dream of: heated baths and showers adjoined to private rooms, water scented not with sulfur but with rose petals, air so thick with steam it obscures the view. You stand beneath the stream of water and scrub until your skin is pink and raw and the chill of the city is almost gone; it has to be some sort of irony, you suppose, that it takes the work of hell to leave you feeling clean, but you’re not complaining.

Outside the door, silent servants have laid out the things you’ll wear tonight: Puzzle Damask and Parabola linen, burnished brass jewelry and a mask for the masque; dressed like that, it’s easy to believe you could become someone else, well rid of sorrow – the kind of person, you’d have said once, who dances with devils and gets away free, but in the end, there’s no one who does that and doesn’t pay.

After the streets were cleared, after the authorities had been talked down, after he and Mob parted for what Reigen prepared himself to be the last time, Reigen sat in his bathroom and picked the glass and gravel out of his feet. He cleaned his scrapes, scrubbed the dirt from his hands, washed the blood out of his hair, and redressed himself in clean, untorn clothes like he was sliding his mask of composure back into place.

His right hand ached with the phantom sensation of Mob's fingers between his.

I don't know the series (though I've always meant to watch it at some point) but I just wanted you to know what a gut-punch this was.

He doesn't shoot Keller, but it's a close thing. There's no real reason to shoot Keller, to be honest, except that he dragged John on a chase through miles of slush and John is wet and freezing.

Also, there's the bit where Keller is a hit man, but honestly John is more inclined to shoot because of the other thing. He settles for the satisfying click of his handcuffs over Keller's wrists.

Once the police has arrived, John vanishes into a convenient alley and starts making his way back to the library. Almost as soon as he does, however, his earpiece crackles.

"Mr. Reese? You may want to come here, instead." Harold gives him an address, fairly close by.

Inside the safehouse, the warm air hits John like a pillow to the face. He blinks.

"There are clean clothes waiting for you." Harold is seated on the couch. He doesn't look up from the laptop. "And there is enough hot water for as long a shower as you want."

John stumbles towards the shower. He pauses at the door long enough to say, "Thank you," heartfelt.

Harold does look at him then, over the tops of his glasses. "I suppose it's the least I could do since you refrained from shooting Mr. Keller."

I really loved this. It's so John -- kill him? Nah? Or yes? But he made me chase him and I"m cold and wet and so he must die. Or, well, I suppose not. And Harold, knowing and just being there for him. Just pitch perfect.

Magi: the Labyrinth of Magic, Hakuryuu

Time is of the essence when Hakuryuu returns from conquering Belial's dungeon with Judal. He should stop to nurse his liar's wounds shut with magic, but there's too much to do. He settles for a hot shower in their new fortress, watching as the water runs rust-brown from his ill-tended wounds. Once this is over he'll put his clothes from Belial back on, return to the work of turning the soldiers' minds to his favor, give further orders to Judal... This is the closest he'll get to rest for days, he thinks, but even now he cannot afford to stop the wheels of his mind from turning.

Judal's waiting when he opens the door, folded clothes in hand. Hakuryuu glances from them to Judal's face, confusion written plain on his own face as Judal grins.

"A change of clothes, my king." Judal presses the clothes into Hakuryuu's hands, and the cloth is almost as soft as Judal's palms. "Can't have you running around looking like a common bloodied thug in front of your new men."

"Of... Of course." Hakuryuu takes proper hold of the clothes, and Judal lets go, turning with a wave. "Wait, Judal-"

"Don't mention it. I'm gonna go get some work done on those spells you needed."

Tiger & Bunny, Kotetsu/Barnaby

Kotetsu drags himself out of the bathroom and up the stairs, bone-tired and only staying upright because of the promise of a bed at the end of his trek. Usually the suit protects him from the worst, but it's not 100% waterproof and Stern Bild gets cold in the winter.

Bunny's already curled under the covers, having taken the shower before Kotetsu. From the number of blankets piled on the bed, Kotetsu guesses he's still pretty cold as well.

He crawls in bed and wiggles an arm around Bunny, and Bunny immediately uncurls and turns over to mash himself into Kotetsu's chest.

Kotetsu presses a kiss into the top of his head and tries to tuck the blankets back around them with only one hand. "Getting any warmer, Bunny-chan?"

Bunny wraps both arms and one leg around Kotetsu and burrows against him. "I will when you stop letting the cold air in, old man."

Kotetsu stops messing with the blankets and settles his arm back around Bunny, and Bunny sighs contentedly. Kotetsu smiles and resigns himself to waking up at some point with a mouthful of blond curls.

It's not really fun spending most of the night out in the freezing weather, but this is definitely his favorite way to warm back up.
