about me and maybe 3SF?

So I was wondering, with all the activity over here, if there would be interest in doing a 3 sentence ficathon?  I hosted it a couple of years ago before my slump.  I'm just always worried about taking people away from their Yuletide work, though, sometimes, 3SF can get the creative juices flowing so to speak as it's so non-stressful.  Thoughts?  Better to wait until February?

As for me, I'm older than compost and as the handles states, I've been hiding fandom in the underwear drawer since 1977 and subverting authorial intent since 1995 when I first posted Stuff, the epically long Luke and Mara fic that ... hmmm...  captured something something something.  it was a thing.  I've since dabbled a tiny bit in published fic and occasionally have ideas I love so much, I think, WOW, this COULD WORK IF I FILED OFF THE SERIAL NUMBERS.  But then work (because I work a lot) and I return to fanfic because I love it.  I've written about 2 million words of fic, by myself and with co-authors.  I left fandom and Star Wars in about 2001 (I was posting under the name Gheorghe2 in those days and smut under sithchick80).  I returned in 2009 and began writing LOTs of Narnia fic where I, still mostly focus today, albeit more slowly due to work that pays the mortgage.

Speaking of work, I live and work in the greater DC area.  I work in areas related to foods, drugs, supplements, cosmetics, meat, poultry, and agriculture, healthcare policy, and similar.  I hate lobbying with the passion of burning suns.  I've gone further and further (and further) left over time.  If you're ever wondering why you had to watch a video and sign your life away and a zillion consents before getting that drug from your pharmacy, ask away (it's called a REMS).  I am a science-based decision maker though I have no science background.

I like baking, dogs, natural history, dinosaurs, World War 2 history, espionage, wine and beer.  I hate running but I do it.  The natural history, dinosaurs, espionage, wine, and World War 2 has ended up in a lot of my recent fic, including rude otters and clever corvids.  I am not crafty and have terrible coding skills.  My skill set lies in writing and chatting and I deeply love the communities that build around fan fic.  Most of my closest current friends I met through Stuff in the 90s and now my Narnia work.

I love fandom and my interests are very  broad and I frequently read in things I know very little about.  Star Wars (most flavors except non-Lego gaming and comics), Narnia, Doctor Who, Expanse, LOTR, Bujold, Pern, Indiana Jones, MCU, Killjoys, Orphan Black, Timeless, the Librarians, Harry Potter, Temeraire, and many many others.
Drop a line.  Let me know what you think about a 3SF.

I, for one, am always in favor of 3-sentence ficathons!

I'd be into a 3SF! Maybe I could even participate this time around!

I think I would probably participate in a 3-sentence ficathon too!

Logged in over here just to say that I’m down for 3SF! I’ll even make you a lil header image or something if you want it for hosting :)

I always love a 3SF! I will signal boost as well, if you'd like.

I'd be into it, and even have something in drafts that I'd love to tweak and use. Though January is def. better for me.

I frequently read in things I know very little about.

I do this as well. Some of my favorite fic falls into the category of "fandom/source I know nothing about".

I was just thinking about 3SF a few days ago and wondering if anyone ([personal profile] caramelsilver?) would be hosting it this time of year.

IDK how a 3SF athon would work, but it sounds interesting.

But for that matter IDK what Yuletide is either so...

I just like to read fic (your fic for sure) and occasionally write it.

And that was a fantastic intro!

I am always up for 3SF!! That’s how you got me to sign up for DW start writing fic (well, posting it at any rate) in the first place! :-D

I admit I’d likely have an easier time participating in it after Yuletide, partially because of the sheer number of words I need to come up with between now and then, partially because of holidays and other RL stuff... but whenever it happens, I’ll be there!

Yup. It was rth and the 3SF that browbrained me into joining DW. (It was a very gentle browbraining and I would not have come if I had not already been thinking that I need a writerly space online.)

I'd love to do a 3 sentence ficathon. I haven't written anything in months, I need something small to start me off again.
