NFE Prompts Are Out!

I got mine!  Did you get yours?  Tell me more (without breaking the code of silence!).  Are you excited?  Are you stressed?  Do you  hear crickets and howling wolves?  Are you worried you'll be writing another 20,000 words?

Thanks so much to [personal profile] snacky , as always!

OMG I MUST BE INSANE.

I got my assignment, and it's like no HP prompt I ever got, it's way more specific. I am terrified whoever it is will be disappointed.

Can you tell I've never signed up for NFE before? Good grief.

I am excited, and very, very scared.

Starbrow actually talked me into it - invited me, then when I'd gone over it and replied that I might just lurk this year, she's all, "Loved what you did in the 3SF, looked around your journal, think you'd do great," and how could I refuse? *hee* It sounds like I gave in easily when I put it like that, but I waited till the very last day - maybe a few hours or so before the signup deadline - to actually do it. And fretted the whole time.

I would LOVE to bounce ideas. Um. At some point. I don't know how to determine if I can take you up on it - should I ask Snacky? I don't know how this fest runs!

But YES. My request was pretty vague and open-ended, though I did list a few pairings that were okay, should the person decide to go that way. I gave no specifics about what kind of story I'd like to see, simply because I'd like to see whatever it is in you to create (generic you, not you-you).

My assignment, on the other hand, was very, "I'd like to see this pair, and this is where I want it to take place. And if not that, then I suppose this other thing would be okay, but with these people, set here, and this is how." It was so opposite to what I'd requested, I wondered if I did mine wrong! I think I'll be koay, though - just a little baffled because it's my first time with this fest, and I'm only used to they way a few HP fests are run.

Snort. Sorry for the novella. I get going and then can't stop. :D

Snort. My list of do-not-wants was actually copy-pasted from my HP:Porn In the Sun signup from last year, with a couple vague Narnia do-not-wants tacked onto the end. I didn't specifically request porn (though believe me, I'm not averse to it - I just finished my third Porn In the Sun gift, and have actually been beta-reading for someone for five years as of this year), but frankly, I really will read just about anything so long as it's well-written. It's not indecisiveness so much as that I am interested in whatever people have to write about.

I'll add you to my G-chat/email, and thanks!! I don't use Skype often, so I'll save that one for now.

Super-specific requests!! Just-. That was exactly my thought - "Huh, seems you've already got it half written, but okay."

I did wonder about the typical ratings - nice to have it confirmed. I don't know that I'd write porn at first for this, anyway, but again, confirmation is good. I should really go back and take a peek at past pieces.

If you're interested, I can link you to my last two PITS pieces, or to my non-porn HP one-shots. Maybe they'll give you a feel for how I usually write. BUT NO PRESSURE! Just a friendly offer. ;)

I'm not sure I've come across those stories yet - I think I need several weeks to myself with a laptop and food and drink so I can just voraciously consume every Narnia fic I find.

Rant all you like, I am always interested.

YAY, links!

2011 - My first HP: Porn in the Sun piece
2012 - My second HP: Porn in the Sun piece

Can't give you this year's, yet - posting hasn't started/reveals definitely haven't happened.

Older HP one-shots...please keep in mind that these were written 2006, 2007, even 2008. They are old. They're all on my ff.net - I haven't gotten them all put on A03 yet: psyche29 on fanfiction.net

I'm always interested in what people think, especially if it needs improvement! Otherwise, enjoy at your leisure!

I got mine I got mine!!! I think I know who it's for too but I'm not sure. And I don't know what I'm going to write about....she gives me a lot of space to play, which is great, but then it means there are sooooo many options so we'll see!

In my case it is mostly a sign of business! I miss you all though, I need to get back into posting. (And also figure out a way to make lj let me reply to comments, that is still really sketchy.)

But I did sign up for the NFE so at least I am committed to one thing. :)

Ooh! That sounds exciting. Although I usually assume that everyone can tell when you've written something, because the historical setting is so well-researched.

I think I might wind up picking up a story I put down a couple years ago, because I think my prompt might make it work better. Is that cool, do you think? Or are we constrained to totally new stories? I don't think my prompter would mind at all (if it is who I think it is).
