Thank you! The annoying thing is that this trope is so utterly pervasive - even otherwise sane authors will suddenly have a man kiss a woman senseless until lack of oxygen convinces her that's what she wants. Nothing's sexier than a man - or a woman, for that matter - ask for consent before they take action. And my favourite literary couples are always those who need complete equality to even be able to work.
