Oh, it absolutely fits! I love that Dido is gone but definitely not forgotten, and the hints of the brothers' relationship in the background, but most of all, the fact that Aeneas's love for and happiness with Lavinia will have to be from his own mind, not from the machinations of the gods. That is, it'll be difficult but not hopeless, and all the more precious because it is 100% human.
