The first time Elrond rolled out the map, Frodo's eyes widened in shock and delight. He had known the world was big from Bilbo's stories, but as he looked at the detailed drawings and exotic names, he was awed by the immensity of it all. With his fingers, he traced the route to Mordor, and realized with no small measure of excitement and, yes, terror: he was going on an adventure.
