A reader gave me another link to a post from a Lewis scholar who complains about how his "theology" is so deeply misunderstood. http://diannaeanderson.net/?p=1361 He was, as she points out, an atheist and a classicist long before and for a lot longer than he was a Christian. Further, so many seem to assume that in becoming Christian, Lewis adopted a particular brand of American evangelical, politically conservative Protestantism.
