They hatched!

The robinThe robin hen -- Here she was a few days ago, all cozy on the drain pipe.
Robins ChicksRobin Chicks They hatched a few days ago and now just hang out of the nest with their mouths open all the time. I tried to get a picture yesterday and the hen dive-bombed me.  There are three of them in the nest.  On the back porch today was a starling chick, stumbling about, squawking and demanding food.  It is so funny to see them like this when they are larger than the parents and hungry ALL the time.

And wish me luck.  Many snacks acquired.  Visual aids located.  I'm so annoyed.  I just don't think this will go well.
And as for the next update, I now have 5,000 words.  I could post it over the weekend.  But I'm sure it's too short at this point, yes?

Good luck! When in doubt, acquire more snacks (and liquids, given how hot it's been these days). And we'll all be rooting for you. :-)

Only you would think 5K is too short! :-) That's the number I try to attain when I'm actually writing a story. Anything less than that is simply not enough for me. I envy you in how you can generate a high word count in a matter of days and not months or years.

Cross fingers it goes well!! :)

And that update length sounds more than fine hun, if you think its ready, than go for it!

Such cute birdies! We have chicks all around here, too - my mother-in-law's yard is a haven for birds, and we've had two nests of them right outside the front windows.
