Remix Signal Boost!

Remix 10 sign ups are open!!!   Gosh the timing is bad for me this year, but it is such a fun thing!  And I think I'd be a terrible person to get assigned because really, I'm a one trick pony, very old dog with no new tricks.  I did have such fun with both what I wrote and what I received.  Anyone else going to play?

Oh, sigh. I cannot remix this year. I really want to get some work done on my WIP list and I'm going to need the gap between NBB and NFE.

yep, though at this point, I'm wondering if I should finish the BB or bother with the NFE. RAWRRRR. The timing isn't good regardless. We're out of the country the first week in April. Last year, I was paired with Meto so I knew her work already. If I was paired with someone I didn't know, that would be bad.

I want to do Remix. I'm torn, though. I also like doing the Finishathon every year, and it looks like they're going to overlap this year. (The Finishathon creeps earlier every year, somehow.)

I've got a few days to decide. I also need to consider what fandoms to offer. I only qualify in one fandom, so there's no question about that side of things.

At least I've got everything on AO3 this year. I can point people there instead of to my website.

I'm in the same boat. I'm still finishing the Big Bang and was feeling good about it and now am a wrecked pile of panicked hysteria and thinking that it's time to throw it all in the river and slink away. The thought of being paired to some of the Narnia authors is terrifying (see Liz Culmer below), or trying to write in some of these other fandoms where the writers are so good and the verses so complex. And then we have the NFE starting and I'm looking at all challenges and no updates (all of which would interfere with said plan to toss it all in the river).

Really, I bring it on myself. It is such a fun thing to do, though. I adore fic of fic.

Oh goodness *please* finish the Big Bang! I always have that moment near the end of any project where it seems like it's better to bury the whole blasted thing, but it's always so much better to get it out there! If there's anything I can do to encourage you let me know!

Sorry to take so long to respond-- I got distracted.

Do finish Big Bang. I suspect that the project is better than you're currently thinking. I know that I always hate what I'm in the middle of (and hate it more the harder I'm working on it and the closer it gets to deadline). Of course, I'm being a bit selfish-- I want to read what you write. I always enjoy your fics.

I did end up signing up for Remix. I'm now dithering about maybe switching around the fandoms I signed up for. I think I could do all of them, but I won't know until I match. What if I get someone who writes a lot of sex or even just romance? I've been writing almost exclusively gen for the last couple of years. Oh, dear. No. I can do this.

I wonder if I'll match a drabble writer again. It's happened two out of the three times I've signed up.

I am playing! Remix is always one of the highlights of my fannish year. :-)

(For the record, I would be thrilled to get you as my remixee, should that happen. Also terrified, but mostly thrilled.)

I was JUST thinking, oh gawd, what if I got Liz Culmer? What would I do? What would I DARE to do? Terrifying I tell you. Terrifying.
