Really, I am writing
It's just that I'm working on a Star Wars/Doctor Who cross over and have returned to writing a particular character in the Star Wars Expanded Universe after 17 years. Eeep. It's going slowly (5,000 words or so) but it's really, really fun and I'll shove it into the femgenficathon as satisfying both my previously written prompts.
And speaking of Doctor Who, being reported all over the place this morning, including here the Doctor Who Christmas special is supposed to be a cross over with the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, complete with creepy old house and World War 2 evacuees. There are lots of great Who/Narnia cross overs including
ilysia_039's touch the sky with two arms and
be_themoon's Whose_Other_Side_Is_Salvation.
metonomia has done several, including with Susan, the Doctor, and Merlin, and one with the Doctor and Polly for the NFE here. I think
wingedflight21 might have at least one as well. Please add others in the comments!!
Also, and this is
edenfalling's fault because I really wanted more Shezan and Ilgamuth or Cor and Aravis, so I bit, even though I don't usually do this, but you know, I could use a kickstart to get back to AW and maybe this well help on the Spare Oom sides of things.
Thefirst five people to comment on this post get to request that I write a drabble/ficlet of any pairing/character of their choosing. In return, they have to could post this in their journal, regardless of their own writing ability level. Or bake me cookies. [edited]
So, if you want to play, just ask in the comments and hopefully it will get me going on Lionsgate (the next chapter) and how I'm going to write Peter at Normandy and Susan in France short of a full blown, multi-chaptered epic war story.

I am fully in favor of diving back into AW! YES PLEASE! ...Can I play, but only the first half? :D

Did you mean you wanted me to write something but don't want to write anything? Really, could you not write like a single line of Lucy/Caspian? You know you could. Or Anakin/Padme and a wetsuit and squid. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO. But of course I do not care if you prompt and then don't write -- I won't go demanding payment with threats of cutting off your Internet access and breaking your knee caps.

I'd love some Cor/Aravis because not enough people write about them!!

And yup! I wrote To Be Left Behind ( http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5843513/1/To_Be_Left_Behind ) with Susan and the Doctor. And sh! don't tell, but I just may be working on another one right now. *shifty eyes*
And I am absolutely thrilled for the Christmas special. This is going to be amaaaazing!

(Just finished watching the 2-parter that introduced Captain Jack. Hah. Maybe I should go find myself copies of Torchwood next.)

I know you hate it when people request more of him, but I like YOUR Peridan and how incredibly entertaining he is. Any time, any place, with anyone, it matters not.

And hooray for more AW!

(Anonymous) 2011-09-22 03:30 am (UTC)(link)If that rambling mess and teaser earns me a request, I would love to hear about Sallowpad's first mission abroad. Or the first time Edmund attempted to offer him a Shiny.
Sadly, not even I would want the cookies that I bake, so I'll refrain from offering them so as not to earn your ire. I want drabbles, not ire. In return, I shall (someday) give you a castle reeking of cabbage, a clever raccoon, and a rant about opposable thumbs. Fin.

I bet we don't get that Who special until weeks (if not not months) later than you will - just as well the interwebs are my friend ;-)

Well, what about the reaction when Edmund asked his teachers to learn Russian and German-that must surely have raised eyebrows in 1940s England? Or the reaction of the eminent parties to Lucy's remonstration re the Merchant Navy seamen? Or Kwong Lee's reaction? Or the scene where Peter decided to blitz the recruiting trials, or for that matter, when someone sent the local newspaper clipping to Mr Pevensie in New York? Mary's delight on reading Eustace's paper? A vignette from Susan's meeting with Yvonne Renee-Simon? What Lucy and Marjorie actually did to Anne Featherstone? Lucy's first big argument with the school vicar?
Or looking forwards - Jill's reaction on first meeting the unDragoned Eustace? The Pevensies' first meeting with Jill? The maternal reaction to the French finishing school proposal? Mary's first meeting with Susan? Walker-Smythe's first meeting with Asim, or maybe Colonel Clark. A later meeting between Susan and Agnes? Did Ruby find something befitting her skills and training? Did Mary go find something suitable for Ruby, turning half of Oxford upside down in the process? First Officer Mum Pole's first meeting with the Pevensies?
Take your pick - there must be something in that lot that will strike a chord. Oh, and BTW, no sucky angst allowed.

I've never actually made it past the Ninth Doctor (or even all the way through his series), but I know enough about Dr Who that I can usually enjoy a good fanfic. And I keep planning to get through the rest of the series, it's just hard to find them all at my library (hey, we moved - I wonder if my new library has them?), and I have to be in the right mood to watch.
But smashball betting pools? I am SO in.

It was not something Mara discussed with anyone but in fact, she did have a weakness for well made things, good designs, and fine craftsmanship – whether in a blaster, boots, or evening dress. It was one of those regrettable results of a growing up in the Emperor’s company. Mara had a taste for the best quality money could buy and did not have the money now to afford it.
“Of course I can tell, Mara. I love shopping, so let’s go together and you can show me where you got it.”
As for the sambuca, Mara could guess what that was and where you would find it. Shopping with River. Mara had never shopped with a woman before.
She thumbed her comm. “Karrde, you there?”
“Yes, Mara?” her boss asked. He always took her calls and was probably looking for the pool results, but with her plan for what River called “retail therapy,” now was not a good time to tell Karrde that his smashball team had crashed and burned in the semi-final.
“River and I are going into the City to get some supplies for the job.”
“Can’t you get what you need out of our stores?”
“She’s an archaeological consultant and I’m her research assistant and bag carrier, so no, what we need for our cover to work on Wayland with the NRI isn’t going to be in our supply closet.” She’d need to dye her hair, too, and she wasn’t going to trust her hair to a bottle of propellant from the company store.
Mara waited.
“Oh, Karrde,” River put in. “Congratulations. You just pulled ahead in the smashball pool.”
Mara kicked River.
He did! River mouthed.
And you cheated!
“That’s fine, Mara,” Karrde said. “Draw what you need from our account.”
“We might stop and get something to eat afterwards, Karrde. Would you like to join us?” River asked.
Mara kicked River again.
“Thank you, but no,” Karrde said and abruptly disconnected.
“Why did you…” Oh, Mara realized.
River nodded. “I thought of mentioning we were going to stop at a beauty shop first, but he’d never believe it and get suspicious.”
