In my head, for a long time, Mr. Beaver's first name is Castor, as in
Castor fiber – Eurasian beaver
Castor canadensis – North American beaver

So I just took the Fiber and turned it into a name for Mrs. Beaver. And no, she's definitely not apologetic. They did what they had to do.
