It reminds me of some thoughts I've been having lately about mental illness and other difficult life circumstances - that the best option available and the only option left in these cases are both one and the same. In Shuri's case, keep going forward, salvage whatever and whoever is left, adapt to her new position fast, and reinforce the country to avoid opportunistic parties that would sense weakness and rush to prey on the sudden vacuum of power. We are never shown how life was after Thanos's finger snap for the ones left behind, but there's potential there for a lot of interesting stories.
