Re: Author's Notes

I SURE DID
well, to a point. see my first paragraph. still, it felt good to have a smarmy guy talk like that and then get hefted off the ground and shut in a tree

i mean, its only in some versions (or one?), so i doubt its a consistent character trait of his. the common theme is, merlin takes on a student, she learns from him, shuts him in a tree. arthurian myth doesnt really have a "canon", per se, since they were various stories that got collected and reinterpreted (like the use of stirrups postdates arthurian myth) over and over again. these legends are centuries+ old, and i chose this one version to do my take on. so, thinking on it, i could also instead do a version where they are mentor and student, with merlin preparing nimue to take his role as advisor and going into retirement under a rock. literally lmao

thank you very much! i did have plans on collecting all my ficlets and posting them for ease of reading, dont worry :> im really glad you like my continuing adventures of nimue! i debated depicting her raising lancelot but felt this had more meat to it instead.

im very proud of that line. ive never considered myself witty, per se, but hoenstly i come up with a lot of good oneliners and im so happy when they resonate with people! might as well try and pick a pine. my only regret is that she didn't break his fingers at the start, but that would have been terribly rude at a wedding, so she plotted his downfall instead :3c then she went on to be the court magician and oversee her adopted son. and gets a wife bc its my story and i get to choose the ending

thank you for your enthusiastic reading!
