Three Sentence Ficathon -- Part 2

EDIT AS OF 2 FEBRUARY 2019 -- THE 3 SENTENCE FICATHON IS OVER!  Go ahead and read and fill anything that catches your eye and comment on fills but I'm not checking it anymore and most people have moved on so any new prompts aren't likely to get much love.

We are nearing the point that the first 3SF post, which went live on 12 December, is nearing 4,600 comments. At 5,000 comments, Dreamwidth starts demanding captcha to assure you aren't a spammer bot. It's a pain and unpleasant but totally understandable. So, I'm opening a new post, for new prompts, new fills, new comments!

What does this mean?
The original 3SF post is here, so be sure to check it out, fill anything that catches your eye, and comment on anything that delights you. But don't post any new prompts there. All new prompts go here.

How long will we do this?
I will officially close the 3SF on January 31.

Does that mean you'll close this and no one can post?
Nope. It just means that we will all move on in our lives until next year and my inbox will get a vacation to Hawaii.

Remind me again, what's the 3SF?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What's a prompt?  How do I do that?
You can start 3SF by posting prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please. So, for example,

Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, I don't like sand."

Open ended and anthropomorphic fills are popular too, such as:

Any, Any, "I don't like sand."

or

Earth geography, sand, "I don't like humans very much, either."

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt are allowed and even encouraged! (We get really fun stories going this way).

Can I still post if I need more than 3 sentences? Or should I just abuse grammar in ways the English language never contemplated?
Yes. Yes.

But I'm not a member of Dreamwidth
No problem. You can comment anonymously or through open ID

Can anyone play?
Yes! Please signal boost this to your flist, followers, and any other places you frequent. Come one, come all!
The more people who come and play, the better!

Can I spread the word?
Yes, please. Banners and icons are below.

How long will it go?
We'll officially close on January 31, 2019 but I don't close the entry to comments.

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes and could be helpful for Yuletide bears, too.

What about spoilers, content warnings, triggers, pairings, ratings, tags, and squick?
So far, as near as I can tell (and I skim most entries especially from newcomers I don't recognize) we've not had any issues. As in the past, this is too big, moves too fast, and the stories are too short for content warnings and ratings. You should assume spoilers are fair game and that the initial poster and responder have opted to use no content warnings or tags. I've found personally that I can skim by stuff that, from the prompt, I can tell isn't my favorite flavor of delicious cake. As a reader, use your best judgment and be prepared to skip over things that aren't your thing.

I have noticed that some people have posted content warnings in the first lines of their fill or in the subject line. But still, it's readers beware here. Not everyone does this and no one is under any obligation to do so.

Wow, there are so many cool people here. Can I introduce myself?
Yes, in the Friending meme.

"If you don't stop moving, this isn't going to be ruined," a slightly-annoyed voice warns, for the third time.

"Well," Lorne sucks in a breath, trying to ignore the feeling of the brush against his bare skin, "it tickles."

"Then," the voice replies in a deadpan, "maybe you shouldn't have volunteered to be my canvas."

Re: Love (Inuit mythology; Sedna)

Oo thanks for looking them up and telling me! Also . . . that's actually fairly different from the only versions of the story I've heard. (Wherein Sedna denies all her suitors and chooses to live with her dog; it usually says chooses to marry the dog instead which I know mythology is like that but it now tends to make me think 'ace'. And the suitors take her out on a boat and try and force her to choose one of them, and when she refuses still they push her off, and chop off her fingers when she clings to the side, etc. same story from there. No mention of her father in that one.)

I think that's part of why I do love Sedna so much even though her story is kind of dreadful, as far as what is done to her - no matter what she was a strong person who refused to be budged and even in death she became a goddess rather than be taken down. And then even as a goddess she's strong and unyielding but not cruel even in retribution after her death.

Madara freezes in horror, staring at the figure laughing as Konoha forces are laid out bloody before him; he is all but unscathed, save for the pale flesh of one arm that looks unreal and the- the face growing from his chest, unfortunately well recognisable, and he laughs with mad abandon, impossible Rinnegan eyes darting. "This- This is me." Madara says in a choked tone, wishing it was less obvious, wishing it wasn't true, wishing that-

"It is not," Tobirama says firmly, dragging his head around with both hands framing his face, "it is not and it never will be; this world will never happen, we will be sure of it." he promises. "Let go of the chakra feed, come home," he coaxes, thumbs stroking Madara's cheeks, "we will make sure this future never comes to pass."

I don't know the fandom but this line is gold:

He takes a rusty spoon and scoops out the section of his heart stamped Mark and adds it to the box.

I think it's the 'rusty' that really brings it home.

I do love writing the OTT-ness of young love. So desperate and serious and awkward and embarrassing. [Thank goodness I'm long past that.]

The canon itself, though, is an indie movie that's pretty triggery and very depressing, so I never try to get people to watch it.

Hawkeye sang at the top of his lungs, his ratty robe draped across his shoulders like a cape, a (hopefully clean) bedpan serving as a cocked hat, and one of Colonel Potter’s riding crops in hand to complete the ensemble.

“Cut it out, Pierce,” said Potter tiredly, “if I won’t give Klinger a Section Eight, I’m certainly not giving you one.”

“Section Eights for everyone,” proclaimed the ersatz General Hawkeye magnanimously, “on the house,” and he whet his whistle for the next verse with a swig of something a doctor probably shouldn’t permit to scour his esophagus.

“Books,” Morwen told her cats firmly, “come first — all right,” she relented at a chorus of protesting meows and yowls, “second, after the cow and milk bottles.”

A ball of Ariadne’s Twine was next on the list, so she could always find her way back home even when the Forest moved glens, glades, groves and other landmarks around without notice; a magically reinforced fence would also be necessary, to keep certain unwanted guests out while letting visitors in (the cats, of course, would come and go as they pleased, fence or no).

Eventually, Morwen hoped she and the Forest would come to an understanding, that she would navigate its ever-shifting paths without twine or trail to follow, and that she would have no more need for fences, magical or otherwise — but in the meantime, there was no sense in neglecting common sense.

"Ahh- Ah!" Madara's back arched sharply, head tipping back to ease the sudden strain as his lover's hands tightened in his hair, pulling it roughly down his back as heat rushed up his spine. His fingers curled, digging more harshly into Tobirama's hips as the arch of his back drove his cock deeper and wrung a trembling, breathless cry from his lover.

Tobirama's short nails scratched at his back and he pulled Madara's hair again, stinging and rough, and Madara moaned at the pleasure-pain of it even as Tobirama arched beneath him, legs closing tighter around his hips.

But as soon as he saw the dark green hue of the tea — so much darker than any other place had served during his search — he felt the exciting beginnings of hope, and then when the steaming liquid hit his tongue for the first time, bright and green and just a little sweet, he knew that he’d found the perfect cup of Sencha.

The problem with this prompt is that I end up reading delightful, descriptive lines like this, and I end up craving tea. Lovely.
