The cake in my icon is probably too much of an afternoon tea cake to fit a Thanksgiving dinner (at least if the lavishness of the two Thanksgiving dinners I've attended are any guide) though it is a useful one if I'm ever after something dairy-free (not on your needed list, I know). If alcohol is allowed, I do also have a chocolate whisky cake recipe I could dig out, which looks less spectacular but tastes amazing (even with third-rate whisky - in fact it's a very good thing to do if someone has given you a bottle of sub-standard whisky.
