The 2015 Three Sentence Ficathon is now CLOSED, with over 4,100 prompts, fills, and comments. It's been a great exchange and thank you so much for the whacky crackfic, the moving short fic, and the amazing cross-overs. You all are great. I won't freeze this -- go ahead and continue to fill any prompts that interest you and comment on fills made. I just ask that there not be any more NEW prompts.

We'll be back next year. Check out the friending meme and friend away and if you post your works on AO3, be sure to use the 3 sentence ficathon tags.

It's been 2 years, so why not?!!

Caramelsilver ran one in December on Live Journal but I was too busy to play. There are lots of outstanding prompts over there, so do go and check it out!! Here's the link! I did one in early spring 2 years ago here on Dreamwidth, and with Yuletide, Fandomstocking, and Festivids over, I thought I'd run a new one!! Thanks so much to

What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do first?
You post prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please.

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt allowed and even encouraged!

Yes! Please signal boost this to your flist, followers, and any other places you frequent. Come one, come all!

How long will it go?
I'm closing it on Sunday, March 8, 2015. (Last time, we reached 5,000 comments and I had to start a new one before the ficathon concluded. If that happens, I'll start a new post).

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes.

"Okay then, Jenny—" the Managing Director pauses, and checks the letter of application in front of her, "—Jenny Echo, if that's what you call yourself—can you tell me a little bit about yourself and why you want to work with Temple-Noble Temps?"

"Well, I'm not from round here; my father was a doctor," the girl begins, carefully, "and I've heard about you—heard a lot about you, and how fantastic you are, just from temping, with the way you could just be pitched into any situation and be able to sum it up, and make it work, the way good temps can, and I thought that's someone I could really learn from..." her voice falters under the skeptical gaze of the older woman, but she hurries on, her words tumbling over each other now in her eagerness, "and because because I think you're probably the only one on earth or anywhere who could help me, please - I want you to come with me, to help me find my father!"

"Oh, yeah," says the older woman with dry, sardonic inflection, "and who's your father, then?"

"Yes!"

I just hope it doesn't mean endangering Donna too much.

I'm thinking that between them they ought to be able to find a way around the difficulty! :)

I love Donna. I'm so glad you've given her this... credibility. What is brilliant about how she saves the world is that it's a merging of what is Time Lord with her wonderful skills as a human and the fastest temp in Chiswick. You accomplish the same thing here, giving merit to both sides of Donna.

Donna was badly let down by the writers! (So was Jenny, come to that; one episode, and never seen since - she's got to be out there somewhere.)

editing to expand: that tiny scene where she says goodbye obliviously to the Doctor, as if he's some stray acquaintance of her mother's, is heartbreaking. :(
