Three Sentence Ficathon
The 2015 Three Sentence Ficathon is now CLOSED, with over 4,100 prompts, fills, and comments. It's been a great exchange and thank you so much for the whacky crackfic, the moving short fic, and the amazing cross-overs. You all are great. I won't freeze this -- go ahead and continue to fill any prompts that interest you and comment on fills made. I just ask that there not be any more NEW prompts.
We'll be back next year. Check out the friending meme and friend away and if you post your works on AO3, be sure to use the 3 sentence ficathon tags.
Thank you again, so much!
It's been 2 years, so why not?!!
Caramelsilver ran one in December on Live Journal but I was too busy to play. There are lots of outstanding prompts over there, so do go and check it out!! Here's the link! I did one in early spring 2 years ago here on Dreamwidth, and with Yuletide, Fandomstocking, and Festivids over, I thought I'd run a new one!! Thanks so much to
snacky and Saoirse7 for the nudge and to
st_aurafina for making the swell banner and icon!
What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.
What do I do first?
You post prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:
Only one prompt per comment please.
What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt allowed and even encouraged!
But I'm not a member of Dreamwidth
No problem. You can comment anonymously or through open ID
Can anyone play?
Yes! Please signal boost this to your flist, followers, and any other places you frequent. Come one, come all!
I'm cross-posting to LJ but we will keep all prompts and fills here, so they are in one awesome place (and with less spam). Please, post this anywhere and everywhere. The more people who come and play, the better!
[And I'll try to put an embed code in so you can spread the word. I've tried multiple times and failed so far
snacky !
How long will it go?
I'm closing it on Sunday, March 8, 2015. (Last time, we reached 5,000 comments and I had to start a new one before the ficathon concluded. If that happens, I'll start a new post).
Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes.
Gosh, there are some cool people over here. How do I introduce myself?
Through the friending meme right here.
And here, have some icons!

Ceremony (Uhura/T'Pring/Spock)
It's soothing, the tug of the comb drawing the tension from her back and shoulders with every stroke - an easier thing to admit than that there is tension there to begin with, but T'Pring leans in close and whispers, with a flash of the pride that first drew Uhura to her, "you will look as fine as any Vulcan ought, and they will accept you as their own, or they will find that I too am no daughter of theirs."
There is heat in her voice, an echo of her bond with the one who awaits them both on the ceremonial ground, and Uhura shivers at the sound of it, suppressed need and T'Pring's fingers light on her scalp and the answering thrill of desire coiling low in her own belly - and beneath that, chasing away the last of her apprehension, the certainty that she belongs here in this place of scouring sand and emptiness, and that there are two here at least who will fight for her right to stay.

Contrasts
When Jim Kirk pulled on her pony-tail in passing, she wheeled and hissed, “Captain or no captain, if you do that again I will clock you!”
Spock liked to stroke her hair, run his hands through it, bury his face in it, run a finger slowly along the hairline from her temple to the nape of her neck; he said he was fascinated by the tactile properties of human hair.

Sisterhood (Gaila/Uhura)
Nyota has always assumed that's a mistranslation, since she's quite certain she's never been attracted to her blood sisters that way.
But now, as Gaila's fingers move strong and deft over Nyota's scalp, tugging her hair into an intricate crown of braids -- "Hey, fish around in my dresser and find my amber earrings; I want to use them as accents to match your dress and it'll look better if I weave them into the structure instead of jabbing them on after the fact," Gaila says -- Nyota blinks away old memories of laughter and lopsided childish masterpieces, and wonders if Gaila's choice of word has more layers than she'd thought.
