Three Sentence Ficathon

The 2015 Three Sentence Ficathon is now CLOSED, with over 4,100 prompts, fills, and comments. It's been a great exchange and thank you so much for the whacky crackfic, the moving short fic, and the amazing cross-overs. You all are great. I won't freeze this -- go ahead and continue to fill any prompts that interest you and comment on fills made. I just ask that there not be any more NEW prompts.

We'll be back next year. Check out the friending meme and friend away and if you post your works on AO3, be sure to use the 3 sentence ficathon tags.

It's been 2 years, so why not?!!

Caramelsilver ran one in December on Live Journal but I was too busy to play. There are lots of outstanding prompts over there, so do go and check it out!! Here's the link! I did one in early spring 2 years ago here on Dreamwidth, and with Yuletide, Fandomstocking, and Festivids over, I thought I'd run a new one!! Thanks so much to

What is the 3 Sentence Ficathon?
This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like, as many times as you want.

What do I do first?
You post prompts! When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character(s), prompt word/sentence.

Only one prompt per comment please.

What else?
You answer other posters' prompts in three sentences (or more if you can't stop yourself) and fill as many prompts as you want, as many times as you wish. If you see that a prompt you loved has already been filled, go ahead and fill it again! Multiple fills of the same prompt allowed and even encouraged!

How long will it go?
I'm closing it on Sunday, March 8, 2015. (Last time, we reached 5,000 comments and I had to start a new one before the ficathon concluded. If that happens, I'll start a new post).

Are there any rules about cross-posting?
Nope, you can post wherever you want, whenever you want. A lot of folks collected their responses together and posted them on AO3 under the 3 sentence fiction tag. 3SFs are a terrific prompt for remixes.

Uh oh - yes, but... it really is too lovely not to feel the same way everyone does. More lady Narnians, please, especially Beasts! And with the way the Mice are so firmly embedded in chivalric ideas, this is just so... tantalising? to try to imagine lady Mice. And the bothersome but also awesome part is that I had not realised that until I read your piece.

Yes, I was thinking about courtly love and how that might manifest itself in this case...

SPN, Dean/Castiel

"This is a ludicrous plan! There's only a slight chance that it will work, and the much greater possibility that it will end in your utter destruction, and mine! Dean, please listen to me when I say that only a fool would follow through with such a reckless scheme!"

Dean's only ever seen Castiel this furious once before, and it was when he was knocking the shit out of him for - well, for wanting to undertake another suicide mission, actually.

He sighs, looking Cas in the eye and leveling with him. "Yeah, well... it's the only plan we've got, and Sammy's life's on the line, so... I'm going. I won't blame you if you wanna sit this one out."

Cas's jaw is set and he's glaring at Dean, stubborn and angry. There's nothing left to say, so Dean turns and heads for the door. He blinks into the light outside, and as his eyes come into focus, he sees his angel standing in front of him, resignation in his wide, worried eyes as he falls into step beside Dean.

"Change your mind?" Dean prods quietly. "Decide to go down with the ship?"

Castiel is quiet for a long moment, before he answers softly, "Of course, Dean... where else would I go?"

The Originals, Freya/Originals

"It's you..." Every other Original sibling exclaims as she stands there. "Freya."

"Hello, so nice to see you all for real this time, we should throw an event for a reunion like this, shouldn't we? Maybe we'll even make it on that thing... that thing with the moving pictures."

They are happy to see her again, for they would follow her to the ends of the earth, with probably only mild complaining or commenting from Klaus thrown in, as they sweep down upon her in a massive embrace.

"I want to state for the record that if I get eaten by rabid albino alien cryptozoology specimens, it is absolutely your fault, my estate will sue, and I'll haunt your ass until the heat death of the universe, and even if we avoid that shitastic scenario I may turn out to be nothing but a collective hallucination of my fans and therefore shrivel up and blow away if I'm removed from Hollywood for too long," Dave said as he stepped out of the helicopter and onto Jade's roof. "Hey. Long time no see. Love what you've done with the place."

Jade had rarely felt their age difference as strongly as at this moment, when she couldn't decide whether she would rather hug Dave or scold him for being ridiculous and far too self-sacrificing for his own good. "If this is a bad time to be away from your studio, I could have risked a short trip to the mainland. You do know you didn't have to come to Hellmurder Island just because I asked, right?" she said as Rose also slid out of the helicopter, pilot's headset still resting on her shoulders.

Dave shrugged. "Yeah, I know. But you asked."

Beside him, Rose offered a faint smile of agreement and a matching nonchalant pose, though her eyes sparkled with clear knowledge of just how provoking their behavior was.

Jade settled for giving them both merciless noogies, before she drew them both in for a long overdue shower of kisses.

Daryl never had found any reward in saying 'I can't' - think it, feel it, don't show any damn sign of it and yell down anyone who accuses you of showing a trace of it, then push through and do what you couldn't; he had lived that way for a long time.

Now he had a man he followed orders from and the last thing that man would do is let him or the others down; so he had to match and repay that, even those times when an order might be worse than anything he'd done even in his regular life, it might as well drain the blood right out of his heart for as wrong as it feels. Rick was a kind of good to their thrown-together family that was familiar to him even as it felt like he'd never had a chance to be up close to anything like it before, and inside Daryl there would always be a force that growled out I can.

I liked Daryl's pov on Rick and how he's sure that Rick won't let him down.

Thank you! I think Rick not letting them down is one thing Daryl has pretty much unshakeable belief in, because he DESPERATELY WANTS IT TO BE TRUE. But also because Rick does his damnedest with that kind of thing. :)

I love what their relationship has become and not just for shippiness reasons. I think Rick needs (and has found) a second that he can trust with all the shit they're going through and because of the way Daryl took care of Judith in her first days.

Trust is a huge deal for Daryl and I've seen some fics where he's at the camp with Shane running things and then Rick shows up and we get his view on how much better Rick is. I imagine that law enforcement weren't the Dixons favourite people so there's that element of it to me too.

Basically I am overly invested in fictional people.

Heck, this is the place to be over-invested! I don't ship these two, but I do think they match in a way they find especially fortuitous. Gotta say, though, I find it weird to imagine S1 Daryl helping Shane out. Are these AUs where Rick shows up later and Daryl's already changed enough to start helping the group more?

I think I worded that badly. I meant Daryl's pov when he and Merle are at the camp and Shane is running things, not that Daryl and Shane are running things together, that would be very AU :)

In some of those fics (as far as I recall) Daryl would never put himself forward for leadership which is true to his early seasons and would hunt etc but wasn't too fond of Shane taking charge and then when Rick showed up it was a different style of doing things.
