Re: Prince Edmund

Lambert and Briony knew not to call him "Cub."
"Your Guard must be your friend," Briony says.
"Your Guard must be your closest and most confidential advisory," Lambert says.
Edmund agrees with this advice, but isn't sure about Wolves as Guards. The Canines guard Uncle Aidan and all his cousins and the Queen and mother. He really should take a Feline he thinks.
"Cheetahs serve the High King alone," Fooh says, when Edmund asks him about it. (Briony laughs and says she remembers when Fooh and Beehn would chew on each other's ears during Council meetings."

Edmund does want to be fair so he interviews all comers, even if he privately thinks that Hedgehogs and Rabbits are not fierce enough. The Mice do make a compelling case; Edmund listens to them very seriously and compliments Shimerteek for his valour and dapper appearance.

But besides the brave Mice, he thinks that it really should be a Feline and though he doesn't say so to anyone, he doesn't want a Tiger. Not yet. He worries there will be only one Tiger, ever, and it always takes some effort to not cry when he thinks about Jalur going off with Aslan waving his tail in the air.
