Meme time!

I am going to see Avengers again!  [livejournal.com profile] knitress and [livejournal.com profile] econopodder are Avengers virgins so I'm excited and we WILL stay to the Very Last Scene.  You know the one, which I've so wanted to write but I figure there's more Shwarma fic at this point than Steve/Tony first time fic.  Also I've been to Budapest!

There's been some interesting meta going about readers, writers, reviewers, entitlement, and concrit in [info]lady_songsmith 's journal on Fandom Economy.

Anyway, then [livejournal.com profile] edenfalling presented this meme so tag, you're it!

1. Pick a pairing or a character
2. Ask me my particular headcanon regarding something about them
3. Post to your journal to share your own headcanon!

(And if you want to include OCs from fic and such, bring it on!)

I had in my head last night a whole answer to this and forgot it. And this is all likely where I depart hugely from the vastly complex Star Wars EU that has developed because I don't know every nuance of their relationship over the last 30 years or so of EU time. I think Leia resents the people around Luke, but not Luke himself. I think she loves Luke but her brother and his many, many mistakes have confused her, irritated her, and yes, angered her. Secretly, Leia wishes that Han had been right and the Force was all really just a lot of simple tricks and nonsense and an ancient, hokey religion because it's given her and her family epic woe.

"Epic woe," indeed! That really sounds about right. Leia is really more clearsighted than Luke, I think, despite all of his power. (I haven't read all of the SW books that have come out over the last however long, just a few, so I'm really going by my own instincts here). She is the politically and socially savvy one; she knows when to cut losses and move on, and I don't think Luke has that skill. It leads him down a lot of painful paths, and that has to frustrate Leia to no end.
