Peter and Dalia are about as close as I'll ever come to writing an OTP and a Sue. I played with this in their chapter in the Palace Guard and it's the birthday girl's favorite pairing. I did more with it in AW -- they are a family unit, especially once Fooh and Beehn come and it's all written very deliberately to have Peter idealize her and to have her be utterly devoted to him. It's fun to play with the tropes and such since she's a Cheetah so I can make it as wildly sentimental as I want. It's also interesting because people do like this pairing -- and so I find that instructive in what it says about readers and their ideal pairings for Peter -- not something I've done at all except with Dalia. I do wonder if I put her in human form if people would like her as well.

Oh and just because you didn't see a guard on the DT doesn't mean the guard isn't there, right? RIGHT???
