That's so weird. I guess in my mind marriage and children is the most natural, necessary progression of life, that the idea of Aslan letting those He loves die before they experience it is.... strange. As a little girl, when I first read the books, my response to Susan being left behind was "well, it must be because she hasn't gotten married and had kids yet!"
Loss of faith was something a little too complex for me to comprehend at that point. ;)
Either way, it's stuck with me, and the image of Peter, Edmund and Lucy greeting spouses and children in Aslan's world is a part of my head cannon.
