NFE #2, The Maenad of the Maquis

I just posted the first chapter of the second story, The Maenad of the Maquis.  I wrote this for the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] lovesrogue36   for the Narnia Fic Exchange.
The most notable thing with MotM is that, after a long absence from that genre, I went back into smut fic.  It amuses me, in a perverse sort of way, because I know what I've done before, even if no one else in this fandom does, and so the complaints of immorality and destruction of noble Pevensie characters with illicit pre-marital, consensual sex have struck me as very ironic.  "Oh," says Rth.  "If you think Susan kissing and desiring Tebbitt was bad, or Morgan and Edmund using a reference text of Calormene erotic poetry was in poor taste, you should have read what I did in 2001."

Who knew that sober, consensual, responsible, fun sex between a heterosexual couple could be so damned controversial?

So, yeah, I can go there.  I just haven't until someone asked me to.  (Mussed bedsheets, war, French wine, and American jazz?  The fabulous [livejournal.com profile] lovesrogue36  asked  me to, so I did!

I posted it under an M rating, though when I compare it to the other M that's out there now (and even in the Narnia fandom), it seems pretty tame.  In fact, I've got an M rated story still up over there under a different name, in a different fandom from the early years of the site and that one is more explicit than MotM.

There are many research notes that go with this and I'll post those once I put up the second chapter in a few days.  I've not been feeling well lately, so this is a break of sorts, I guess.  This isn't really TSG compliant either, by the way, though I've obviously borrowed from the story a lot.  The characterization of Peter isn't quite where I see him, the ages and timing are wrong, the part of the service he is in isn't right.  But heh, it was such fun!  I was just watching the History Channel on the retaking of the Burgundy region and the quote about "Mon Colonel!  Good news!  The German positions are all in vineyards of inferior quality!" was in the show.  I laughed so hard I almost fell off the treadmill.
