Here be dragons


Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] lady_songsmith pointed me in the direction of a recent publication discussing pterosaurs -- the not so dragon like flying reptiles that Eustace and Mary discuss in Chapter 3.  And io9 my favorite geeky/science site than posts about the research today.  You can read it here,

Don't miss the video reconstruction.  It's all sorts of awesome.

The things that really struck me in this were 1) that some of the flying reptiles were the size of giraffes and 2) io9 describes them as the pole vaulters of the Mesozoic.
