My first concrete thought on reaching the end of this post was "if this all goes where I think it's going, I am totally adopting the conclusion as a new part of canon." And goodness, how self-absorbed must I be that my next thought was "yay! Excuse to postpone writing The Fic yet again!" ??

On second thought, don't answer that! Just pass the ice cubes, so I can have a prayer of keeping cool and staying focused enough to read the new chap through all the way to the end in one sitting!
