What a fabulous story, rth! I just started at the beginning again and it really felt like reading a brand new story since it's been a long time for me to wade back into Narnia fandom.
I absolutely love the edits/new additions that you've made. All the characters and the background have been fleshed out so much more and gives the story extra depth.
My favorite bits were the scenes with Briony with Helen, and Edmund with the Shoemaker. I'm so glad that Helen is learning more about Narnia via another of her children though Lucy doesn't quite have the same gifts of understanding, discretion (what Official Secrets Act, Lucy?) and storytelling to a parent as Edmund.
And speaking of Edmund, chapter 7 made me squeal and be so happy! Another Narnian visit and this time not for Helen! I was so, so thrilled that Edmund could speak to and be with someone about Narnia and in private and to really understand what Helen, Lucy and Morgan's letters meant. I think this was one of my favorite chapters in this entire story!
