that really is the tragedy of all of the beatrices, really. the first one was almost only herself, but she was also this freedom and selfhood that kinzo couldn't reach on his own; and the second one was always treated more as her mother than herself and didn't even understand what had been put on her; and then beatrice the endless was the mother that kinzo had wronged and the original beatrice, but she also got the dubious freedom of making herself more than just an individual woman in ways that she chose.
