aah laertes! i love how the story starts with laertes feeling like he's lost something from no longer pushing people away, because things were simpler and easier and painful and terrible but at least he knew where he stood. and then it shows how much he's gained, because he has people to reach out to now, even when things are painful (too painful to stand alone) but more importantly, he's capable of reaching out.
