Loki dared to lurk around the street corner, where he had been hiding since a while, hoping that it was now safe to come out, since the sounds of the battle had stopped.
What he saw caused his eyes to wide with horror, he felt as if someone had taken away the ground beneath his feet and now he was free-falling into a bottomless abyss.
Without thinking about his own safety, he ran across the street, not paying any attention what was to each side of him, all what counted was to reach the other site of the street before a tragedy would happen.
He heard voices barking commands, weapons firing but magically he didn't got hit by them. In the end it wouldn't matter much, he was a God after all but, by the Nine, Tony was no God and had probably no clue that his life was close to get ended.
Loki didn't cared if anyone would think that he had switched sites, he would watch everyone else die but not Tony. Tony had just managed to get up on weak legs when Loki ran into him, throwing him back while he landed on him. Loki looked up and saw the red dot disappear, he quickly looked over his shoulder, just in time to see the sniper try to leave the roof.
He summoned a bundle of blue flames, send them on their way, silently praying that they would reach their aim.
"What went into you? We are in the middle of a battle" Tony exclaimed irritated. "You haven't noticed the sniper on the roof, unlike me. You can thank me later for saving your life, honey" Loki replied while he got up and held his hand out to help Tony get up as well.
