The night is dark and full of terrors and it is his job to do something about it. Moana was very nice to him, he needed to protect her. The only way to do that was to follow her when she went off on her adventure. He didn’t much like the mean man who threatened to eat him. If Maui would eat him than he might eat Moana too!
