[Miraculous Ladybug] plums (not pruned)

It takes a minute or two for the internet to recognize the young woman wearing a dark blue blazer and magenta blouse, her chignon tucked under the chin of Adrien Agreste in his first public statement since the deaths of Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie Sancoeur—but it takes that long only because the cut and embroidered details make this outfit plainly a matched set with the deep plum and black that young Monsieur Agreste is wearing with a silver necktie, and (though all official remarks to date have been "no comment") the rumors started the moment the Ladyblog posted the sentence In unrelated news, condolences from the Ladyblog team to our friend Adrien on the tragic loss of his father and almost-stepmother as part of the caption accompanying the video in which Ladybug and Chat Noir announced the end of the Shadowmoth threat by transforming on camera into new Butterfly and Peacock superheroes.

"Ohhh, Pajama Girl," says one junior designer at the probably-soon-to-be-renamed Gabriel Fashions, and is promptly shushed by three others whose focus is less on their own work and more on their employer on TV saying "in recognition of the difficult, thankless, and until now nonstop efforts that Ladybug and Chat Noir and their team have put forth to protect Paris, we intend to pay each of them an honorarium of not less than forty thousand Euro for each year of their service as superheroes."

A fifth designer lets out a low whistle at the sum; a sixth says "I mean, they deserve that and more"; the second mutters "If we want to talk about not deserving—" and is immediately silenced by the third clapping a hand to his mouth; "Clearly you weren't paying attention this week," says the fourth while glaring at the second (after the press conference has ended and before anyone can ask if this means the rumors are true), "when Madame Dupain-Cheng took both those suits from concept to final fittings without any assistance from anyone except for someone to hold the pins when she was being fitted, so, you know, I don't care if she's only getting the job because she's his fiancée, she's going to be a better Chief Creative Officer than anyone in this room!"
