Sephiroth doesn't understand how the girl behind the glass can still wear her emotions so plainly after all the things she and her mother have been made to endure. Her eyes remind him of his own, flat green mirrors that reflect all who approach, except there's still a spark within her that whispers of joy and aspiration and the belief that she will someday find a better place beyond the violence of these walls.
"Do you hate it here too?" She asks him, and he loathes the question almost as much as he loathes her for asking it; his emotions, it would seem, are not so far gone after all.
