I love the thought of like, tiny little eight year old Anne ineffectually pushing her fists into his back, and it's not really doing Richard any good physically, but it lets him know that someone cares about him and how he feels and that's really more important and makes him feel better than anything else could, anyhow. Kid!them are so damn cute.
